The DEED Unit of Pahle India Foundation is dedicated to shifting the paradigm of economic development assessment from a top-down to a bottom-up approach, focusing on estimating Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) for improved national planning. This entails devising new methodologies to accurately gauge district incomes, facilitating the formulation of vision documents and blueprints at the local level. Notably, the foundation has forged a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Assam on June 28, 2023, signaling its commitment to assisting in the precise estimation of GDDP and the development of district vision documents within the state.

The Pahle India Foundation is focused on empowering districts as key drivers of economic growth by improving the accuracy of Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) estimation, crucial for national planning.
