SHODH is a non-profit, registered as a society in Delhi, having a presence in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. SHO Read moreDH primarily works with distressed communities like farmers from the semi-arid region, and urban poor residing in unhealthy and difficult circumstances. Our work is also aligned with UNSDG-2 & 3. Agriculture and nutrition are the two most important indicators of any country.   Climate Resilient Agriculture:  While working with farmers, we stress the importance of growing climate-smart crops like millets, which use the least water (rain-fed) to grow with zero chemical input and grow in any type of soil.  To grow a crop is only half of the work done unless consumers understand and eat it regularly. SHODH works with communities residing in urban slums in the fight against malnutrition. The millets and other ingredients that are grown by a farmer in distress are full of nutrition, fiber, and micronutrients, and also have therapeutic properties, helpful in recovery from all lifestyle disorders, cancer, and celiac by boosting immunity.

Programs

  • Climate Resilient Agriculture

When we engage with farmers, we emphasise the value of cultivating climate-smart crops like millets, which grow in any kind of soil and use the least amount of water (rain-fed). They also require no chemical input.

If consumers do not comprehend and routinely consume the crop, then only half of the task has been done. SHODH collaborates with urban slum communities to combat malnutrition. Rich in nutrition, fibre, and micronutrients, the components grown by a struggling farmer, such as millets, also have medicinal qualities that can aid in the healing process of many lifestyle disorders, cancer, and celiac disease by enhancing immunity.
