Centre for the Sustainable Use of Natural and Social Resources (CSNR), is a non-profit, non-political, and secular NGO established in 1996. Initially, Read more it provided vital humanitarian aid in the aftermath of the 1999 super-cyclone in Erasama and Korei. In 2008, it shifted its focus to human rights, actively promoting peace and communal harmony in Kandhamal following communal violence. CSNR engages with both grassroots communities and policymakers, developing a unique empowerment model. It contributes to policy research, networking, and advocacy at the state level. CSNR currently concentrates its efforts in Odisha, primarily serving Adivasis, Dalits, minorities (across religious, cultural, linguistic, and sexual spectrums), people with disabilities, women, children, the elderly, and those affected by misguided development and climate change. The organisation upholds core values such as human rights, non-violence, social justice, gender equality, transparency, accountability, secularism, non-partisanship, and democracy in its mission.
