Samaj Kalyan Foundation, a social enterprise, focuses on innovative development models in the modern era. It promotes development through stakeholder Read moremanagement. Its work includes need-based and rights-based projects, consultancy on emerging development issues, and professional development support for similar organisations and Government departments in India. Currently, it operates in Eastern Indian states like Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Bihar. It plans to expand its services nationwide. Its direct project interventions cover all 30 districts of Odisha, supported by Government departments, development agencies, UN bodies, and corporate CSR units. With over 15 years of experience, SKF has a strong network with Government departments, universities, technical institutions, and media at the state level.

Child Care Programme
In the domain of child care, the organisation focuses on Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE). In specific project areas like Bolangir and Mayurbhanj, SKF imparts ECCE knowledge to women and adolescent girls, positively influencing tribal communities by supporting expecting mothers and post-natal care for both mother and child. Additionally, SKF is working to establish daycare facilities for children aged 3-6, whose mothers are employed outside their homes.

Cluster Development Programmes
Samaj Kalyan Foundation is actively involved in cluster development activities within the coir sector, led by Mr. Kasinath Jena, the Chief Executive. Having received training from the Coir Board's SFURTI programme, SKF has implemented cluster development work in the Sakhigopal cluster. This involves sensitizing stakeholders, organizing skill development training, and more. Over the past eight years, SKF has worked in the coir sector, running an income augmentation programme for adolescent girls and women. They have formed Self Help Groups and engaged in coir-related activities. Additionally, SKF has trained girls and women in coir handicraft making, enabling them to sell their products at local markets and participate in various events. The organisation is now undertaking the SFURTI program in collaboration with the Coir Board and the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

Environment Protection Programme
StateIn the realm of environmental awareness and protection, the organisation has been actively addressing the critical issue of ecosystem and biodiversity degradation. In collaboration with Government and non-government entities, SKF annually conducts awareness camps and mobilizes volunteers and management members to undertake plantation activities. Through these efforts, over 5,000 plants, spanning diverse species such as medicinal, fodder, fruit-bearing, and timber varieties, have been successfully planted in project areas with the valuable involvement of the local community.

Women Empowerment Programme
In gender development, the organisation has established and supports 50 Self Help Groups (SHGs) across various districts. These SHGs receive training on financial management and Government programmes, as well as important topics like human rights and leadership. SKF also addresses women's issues in rural areas, offering counselling for domestic violence, dowry-related problems, and more. For severe cases, group-level income-generating activities are planned. Additionally, SKF provides vocational training to women in Puri District, enabling 50 women to start their small businesses in areas like Badi, Papad, Pickles, and Agarbatti production, fostering economic independence.

Governance Programme
StateIn the domain of governance, the organisation is actively involved in educating Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members about their roles and responsibilities, as mandated by the 73rd Amendment of the Constitution. SKF conducts a series of training programmes to empower PRI members to function effectively as self-governing bodies, aligning with the constitutional requirements.
