SOS Children’s Villages of India acknowledge the plight of 2 crore children without adequate parental care in India and evoke response to ensure that Read moreover 26,000 children under the care of SOS India will never be alone again. Through this campaign, we urge you to connect with these children to ensure no child grows up alone. Your one act of kindness can trigger a million smiles. Please do it today. Don't leave them to face the world alone. Why SOS Children’s Villages of India? SOS Children’s Villages of India is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit and self-implementing organization, working towards the holistic development of, once parentless and abandoned children and children belonging to vulnerable families. For over 50 years, we have reached out to over 25,000 children through our 32 SOS Children's Villages and 33 community projects across India. SOS India is the first child-care NGO in India to get a CRISIL accreditation for strong delivery capability and high financial proficiency. Why should you donate? SOS Children’s Villages of India is working for children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing it. We have pledged to protect children who have lost their parents and have no place to call home. These children are at a risk of being abused and neglected. Your small contribution will help us reach such children and transform their lives by building a bright future for them. Your donation can bring hope to these abandoned children facing hunger, poverty, and injustice in their daily lives. Donors like you will help SOS Children’s Villages of India strengthen its efforts to provide the best facilities to parentless and abandoned children and help them build a future they deserve. SOS Children’s Villages of India believes that every child has a right to grow up with a family. Your donation will help us provide these children with a family that cares for them, ensure they have proper healthcare, nutrition, and education. Your donation will help us create a long - lasting impact on the lives of children who are at a risk of losing parental care . Through our Family Strengthening Programme, in slums and rural areas, we aim to build capacity of BPL (Below Poverty Line) families, widows, and single women to help them move out of the vicious cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient. This in turn ensures all round development, including education, nutrition, health and psychological development, of children belonging to such families.

Programs

  • Individual Foster Care

Alternative care for children who are parentless or who have been abandoned is desperately needed.

To address this pressing issue, SOS Children's Villages India created a community-based care programme in which they assist and support a qualified foster family to enable them to care for the child's health, nutrition, and education. SOS Children's Villages India and the Meghalayan government collaborated in 2021 to provide high-quality, individualised foster care.

Fifty children have been included in the trial effort.

  • Family Strengthening Programme

The Family Strengthening Programme (FSP) is an outreach initiative that operates within the community and aims to empower marginalised families and communities to better care for their children. Because children from low-income families and communities are more likely to be abandoned, the program's main goal is to keep kids from losing their parental supervision.

We help families and people create a stable source of income while enhancing their ability to guarantee that children live in a safe environment and that their fundamental rights to health, education, and nutrition are fulfilled, among other things.

The program's goal is to give underprivileged kids access to necessary services.
