Sastra University

SASTRA was founded in 1984, and its accomplishments over the past 36 years bear witness to its dedication to constructing a university in line with it Read mores guiding concept. One of the top universities in India today, SASTRA offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees in education, engineering, management, law, and the sciences and humanities. Under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, the University Grants Commission granted it Deemed-to-be University status in 2001. In Kumbakonam, SASTRA maintains the Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre (SRC), an off-campus facility registered with the MHRD. Being a complete university, it offers teaching programs enhanced by training, research projects, consulting jobs, and extension initiatives. The NAAC (fourth cycle) granted the institution re-accreditation with a maximum grade of 'A++' (3.76/4.00). According to the UGC's 2018 regulations regarding the classification of universities for graded autonomy, it falls under Category I. The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), UK has granted international accreditation to twelve of SASTRA's engineering programs for nine years, a testament to the academic brilliance of the organisation. SASTRA is now ranked 22 in 2022, however, it has consistently been in the top 40 universities in the NIRF ranking. The Indian government also recognises it as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation.
