    Visuddhaloka Welfare Association operates Sakya Hostels in Manali New Town, Chennai, under the theme of 'Humanism.' For the past five years, it has been nurturing the educational growth of 21 boys and 28 girls, who receive education in nearby Government schools. The hostels offer a conducive environment for academic development, and some of the children have even pursued higher education in engineering colleges and technical institutes after completing their school education, marking the impact of this valuable initiative.

    In 2009, during the 32nd Chennai Book Fair, Sakya Hostel children, supported by the Visuddhaloka Welfare Association, made a significant impact. The book fair, featuring over 500 stalls from various publishers and booksellers, showcased a wide range of books encompassing Education, Science, History, and Spiritual topics. A notable highlight was the Tamil translation of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's writings and speeches. The young visitors from Sakya hostels made the most of this opportunity, exploring nearly 300 stalls and enjoying a 10% discount on various books. Their visit to the fair, which took place on the 13th and 14th of January, provided a joyous and meaningful holiday experience as they searched, collected, read, and purchased books, leaving a positive imprint on the event.
