Anarde Foundation, inspired by the visionary leadership of its founder, the Late Mr. Kapoorchand M. Chandaria, has been actively engaged in empowering Read more rural communities since the 1970s. Recognizing the importance of local resources, Mr. Chandaria established the foundation with a clear principle: rural resources should be harnessed and managed by the very communities that own them. This fundamental idea remains at the core of the Anarde Foundation's mission. Alongside his work with the Foundation, Mr. Chandaria also contributed to rural development through charitable activities, including the establishment of Uttarbuniyadi schools in Jamnagar for underprivileged rural children. Established on April 1, 1979, Anarde Foundation embarked on a journey to uplift and empower rural India. Over four decades, it has developed a unique model that effectively serves rural communities. The Foundation's mission revolves around the belief that village resources, youth, and wealth should stay within the village, fostering self-sustainability and dignity. Anarde Foundation's vision is not just about charity but achieving integrated and holistic rural development by providing sustainable solutions, with a strong focus on income generation and enhancement for rural communities.

Programs

  • Drinking Water Programme

Anarde Foundation is dedicated to addressing India's water crisis. With a focus on rural communities, it strives to provide clean drinking water, conserve water resources, and manage water effectively. Through initiatives like Clean Drinking Water plants, the Foundation transforms lives by ensuring access to safe water, improving health, and preventing economic hardships caused by waterborne diseases. Water conservation and afforestation efforts are central to their strategy, with measures like drip irrigation and tree planting aimed at efficient water use and environmental sustainability. Additionally, the Anarde Foundation works on managing water resources through activities such as pond deepening and building check dams, ensuring a more equitable and sustainable distribution of this precious resource.

  • Low Cost Infrastructure Programme

Anarde Foundation addresses the pressing need for low-cost infrastructure in rural India, particularly in the domains of sanitation and housing. In response to the challenges posed by open defecation, the Foundation designs and constructs unique, clean, and secure sanitation solutions for individual households and schools, emphasizing hygiene and safety. Its work aligns with India's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, contributing to the country's Open Defecation Free (ODF) status. Additionally, it focuses on low-cost housing projects to revitalize villages and provide better living conditions, aiming to retain youth and adults in rural areas. Furthermore, the Anarde Foundation recognizes the significance of animal husbandry in rural livelihoods and constructs proper cattle sheds to protect this valuable resource, ensuring stability in income and nutrition for farmers in the face of climate change-induced agricultural unpredictability.

  • Income Generation & Enhancement Programme

Anarde Foundation focuses on income generation and skill enhancement for women, youth, and farmers in rural India. Its programmes address declining labour force participation and aim to retain youth in villages by offering tailored training in areas such as finance, marketing, handicrafts, vocational skills, and modern farming techniques. This empowers women to enter the workforce, form self-help groups, and contribute to the rural economy. Youth are provided with opportunities for employment or entrepreneurship within their villages, curbing urban migration. Farmers benefit from updated technology and irrigation systems, ensuring sustainable income and economic resilience. Overall, the Anarde Foundation enhances livelihoods by imparting essential skills for income generation.
