The Poona Blind Men’s Association (PBMA), was establish in 1952, and is the second largest, “not-for-profit organisation”, rendering valuable humanita Read morerian service to the visually impaired, through a wide network of activities, covering the entire spectrum of rehabilitation, such as prevention of blindness, education & vocational training for the visually impaired young boys & girls and care of the aged visually impaired people. Our organization is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, XXIX of 1950 and the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Our organisation has grown from a small acorn, to a large tree, spreading its branches wide, in order to give shelter to the poor and needy visually impaired people and also to those who are suffering from various types of eye ailments. The Poona Blind Men’s Association, is well-known, nationally as well as internationally, for the humanitarian work, being done, on a large scale and a number of international agencies are our partners in our various projects. The hospital's core mission is to reach out to the unreached and provide quality eye care, aiming to eradicate avoidable blindness and improve eye health across all age groups and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The hospital has achieved NABH accreditation, established 35 Vision Centres, and set a goal to perform more than 6 lakh eye surgeries by 2030, with 65% of these to be done free of cost for underprivileged patients.
