The Roshni Foundation, a charitable trust, has been actively working in the Dahanu region of Maharashtra since April 2016. It has taken under its wing Read more seventeen Zilla Parishad schools and 2000 students. The Foundation's core belief is in holistic education that combines play, modern teaching techniques, and technology. By providing essential and contemporary resources, it aims to foster sustainable, high-quality education, contributing to progress in areas such as health, hygiene, culture, sports, and technology. Its vision is to provide these resources for both direct and far-reaching positive impacts on underprivileged rural India. The Foundation's mission is to ensure that through comprehensive education, these students can break free from the shackles of poverty and deprivation, ultimately leading them to a self-sustaining and dignified life where they can pursue their dreams. It envisions a future where education is not only interesting but also fun, paving the way for brighter prospects in the lives of underprivileged Adivasi children.

Collection Drive Programme
In 2017, the Roshni Foundation organised a massive Collection Drive, spanning from April 16th to June 12th. During this initiative, numerous individual donors and parents of urban school students wholeheartedly contributed. The result was three fully loaded trucks containing a diverse range of items, including furniture, clothing, uniforms, winter apparel, footwear, toys, games, sports equipment, storybooks, encyclopedias, stationery, lunch boxes, water bottles, school bags, purses, bicycles, computers, and more. These donations were distributed to the 11 Z.P. schools under its care, benefiting 800 tribal children and the local community. The generous response from the young donors of Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai was truly overwhelming.

We Share We Care Programme
In the year 2017-18, Roshni Foundation's dedicated team brought immense joy to nearly 800 students in its 11 adopted Zilla Parishad Schools in Dahanu, along with toddlers in anganwadis, young women, and hundreds of villagers. Each student received multiple sets of high-quality clothing, a diverse array of toys, educational and entertaining games, world-class storybooks, encyclopedias, water bottles, lunch boxes, compass boxes, school bags, purses, bicycles, and children's scooters. Furthermore, a substantial quantity of Indian wares was distributed to young women in twelve villages. The Foundation's efforts created a positive impact, spreading happiness and resources within the community.

Cool School Programme
As the new academic year began, the Roshni Foundation's initiative, "Cool School," provided a breath of fresh air to 11 Zilla Parishad Schools. In 2017, each classroom in these schools was equipped with two fans, bringing relief from the summer heat and ensuring the comfort of tribal Adivasi children. A total of 60 fans were distributed, making the learning environment more pleasant and welcoming for the young students.

New Book New Look Programme
In a heartwarming event titled "New Book New Look," Roshni Foundation, in 2017, provided a fresh start to all 800 students in its 11 Z.P. Schools. They received a range of school supplies, including notebooks, slates, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, pens, compass boxes, a variety of colours, and stationery. These provisions aimed to equip the students for the new academic year, fostering a sense of readiness and delight, ensuring they could approach their studies with renewed enthusiasm and fresh minds.

Go Green Go Clean Programme
In 2017, the Roshni Foundation's "Go Green Go Clean" initiative earned recognition from the Maharashtra Forest Department for the second year in a row. The Foundation actively participated in the 'Green Army' project, dedicated to preserving the environment by planting 220 saplings of various fruits, saag, bale, rainforest, Gulmohar, and more on July 1, 2017, which coincided with Maharashtra Tree Plantation Day. Additionally, the Foundation contributed 100 tree guards to safeguard the newly planted saplings. This commitment to environmental conservation demonstrated its dedication to promoting a cleaner and greener world.
