Wildlife Trust of India(WTI) works across 23 states of India to sustain natural environments and wildlife. It aims to serve nature and protect the nat Read moreural heritage of India by partnering with Government agencies and the community to implement multiple programmes which include providing aid and rescuing wild animals from threats, recovering threatened species of wildlife and protected areas, easing of human wildlife conflicts, helping enforce law and regulations and conducting awareness campaigns emphasizing India’s natural heritage.

Working in 23 states for more than 20 years mobilizing a 150-strong professional and qualified team, 48,154 animal lives saved, 2,56,81,431 hectares of natural habitats secured, 3 threatened species recovered, 2103 elephants saved from train collisions, 47 enforcement operations to dismantle wildlife trade & trafficking, 18,941 forest guards trained as part of the Van Rakshak Project, 19,444 families enabled with green livelihoods reducing dependence on wildlife, 24,45,341 children made aware of conservation.
Programs

Conflict Mitigation Programme
WTI has come up with six innovative large-scale models for reducing human-wildlife conflicts which can be easily replicated in other locations leading to less friction between humans and nature.

Wild Aid Programme
WTI aims to provide novel solutions to traditional problems relating to conservation helping to reduce issues from converting into big problems.

Wild Rescue Programme
This programme attempts to rescue wildlife and displaced animals. Drawing from its experience, the organisation methodically rescues wildlife from threatening situations to rehabilitate and save the environment from further damage.

Species Recovery Programme
Due to modern developmental pressures, many species of wildlife are nearing extinction. WTI intervenes to recover species from the brink of extinction by improving their recovery rates and enabling revival through improved recovery scores.

Protected Area Recovery
WTI works to improve the functioning of six protected wildlife sanctuaries by partnering with local agencies.
