Global Opportunity for Youth Network (GOYN)
Focusing on equality, systemic transformation, and amplifying youth voices, the strategy prioritizes collaborative efforts across sectors. It aims to uplift "Opportunity Youth," aged 16 to 29, not in school or formal employment. Covering Ramgarh district's blocks – Ramgarh, Gola, Dulmi, Chitarpur – encompassing 50 revenue villages and 60,000 youth, the initiative involves counselling, skill development, and rural entrepreneurship training. Notably, 307 youths secured diverse job roles, 351 underwent skill training, and 29 initiated enterprises, with 10 recipients of a Rs. 25,000 fellowship for new ventures.
-
Promoting Farmers Producer Organization (FPO)
The aim is to enhance income for marginalized and small farmers by forming their own organisations and producers' group. These farmers, with limited resources, often face challenges in diversifying crops due to price risks and inadequate marketing opportunities stemming from small farm sizes. Operating in Ramgarh district's Gola block, the initiative facilitated procurement of paddy, seeds, and farm equipment, and facilitated transactions through the ENAM portal. Noteworthy outcomes include financial benefits to registered farmers, issuance of E-Labour cards, mango orchard establishment, expanded irrigation, and increased earnings per FPC member.
-
Green and Clean Energy Programme
The initiative aims to promote economic growth and address climate change in Jharkhand by implementing renewable energy solutions. Rural artisans and entrepreneurs in Ramgarh district's Gola, Dulmi, Chitarpur, and Ramgarh blocks are the primary beneficiaries. Awareness workshops, along with print, radio, and TV campaigns, are conducted to introduce energy conservation. Notably, the effort has enabled various businesses such as Xerox centres, silver jewellery crafting, sewing machines, common service centres, and more, to thrive, enhancing the region's green and clean energy landscape.
