The Child Acute Services Nurse Manager, in coordination with medical leadership, ensures the delivery of safe, professional, and clinically appropriate care round-the-clock, seven days a week.

  • Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive therapy used for treating depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. It is actively researched for potential applications in conditions like Alzheimer’s and acquired brain injury. This treatment involves applying a series of electromagnetic pulses to a precise area of the brain daily, typically spanning several weeks.
rTMS can be administered to suitable patients both on an outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) basis. Patients undergoing this treatment require no specific preparation beforehand. They are comfortably seated or in a reclining position in an adjustable chair (similar to a Dental Chair). A probe or electrodes are placed on the patient's head, and magnetic stimulation is delivered following a specific protocol tailored to the individual patient's needs.

  • Psychiatric rehabilitation

The concept of mental health rehabilitation, also referred to as 'psychiatric rehabilitation,' involves supporting individuals in acquiring and utilizing the strengths, skills, and resources necessary for effective living, learning, and working following recovery from a mental illness.
Mental illnesses are medical conditions that disrupt an individual's cognition, emotions, mood, interpersonal relationships, and daily functioning. Similar to individuals managing physical conditions like diabetes, those with mental health issues and their families often need to adjust their lives to cope with the challenges brought on by the illness, impacting their overall quality of life.
Rehabilitation serves a crucial role in alleviating despair and emotional distress experienced by individuals dealing with mental health challenges.

On May 28, 2005, Antara's Child Guidance Clinic introduced a pioneering 10-bed Inpatient Treatment Unit, marking a milestone in the Eastern part of India.
This facility allows the child to undergo treatment while accompanied by their mother or another family member. The primary objectives of admission include closely observing the child's behaviour, assessing their interaction with parents, and conducting comprehensive psychiatric and psychological evaluations. The unit is well-equipped with recreational areas, dining spaces, and classrooms. The Children’s Ward receives partial support from Minds for Health, U.K.
    Therapeutic Interventions:
    • Pharmacotherapy
    • Behavioural therapy
    • Cognitive therapy

    • Supportive therapy
Throughout the day, children engage in various activities such as group discussions, physical exercises, academic sessions, sports, games, reading, and creative craftwork like clay modelling and paper art.

  • Self help group

Self-help groups represent informal gatherings of individuals aimed at collectively addressing shared challenges. While the term "self-help" suggests a focus on individual efforts, these groups emphasize mutual support among members.
These groups have proven effective in initiatives related to poverty reduction, human development, and social empowerment, often concentrating on microcredit programs and income-generating ventures. Over the past two decades, they have also found various applications in the disability sector. Self-help groups formed by individuals with disabilities and their families engage in diverse activities encompassing healthcare, rehabilitation, education, and microcredit programs.
Antara Swanirbhar Dal has concentrated its efforts on regular meetings, initiating group stabilization through thrift and credit initiatives among its members, and establishing a substantial group fund. The organisation comprises three key positions: a president, a secretary, and a cashier.
