Sukalyan Welfare Society  has been working in West Bengal since 2002, with the primary focus on the sustainable development of communities. Sukalyan Welfare Society was registered as a Society in March 2005 under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961 and later registered under 80(G) and 12A under the Income Tax Act, 1961 in January 2013.


Action

Sukalyan implements welfare activities with a prime focus on improving community health and ensuring rights among marginalized women and children, in collaboration with state and central departments and with active community support.

Impact

Over the last 12 years, Sukalyan has impacted the lives of over 600,000 people, including 200 women through livelihood development, 1,000+ through financial literacy interventions, 500,000 villagers through preventive healthcare interventions, and 100 youths through digital interventions.

Vision & Mission

Sukalyan's mission is to create a healthy community, healthy environment, and healthy world by implementing activities to fight against hunger, illness, poverty, unemployment, and pollution.

Programs

  • Sustainable livelihood

    In response to this need, Sukalyan introduced a livelihood program focused on providing vocational training in tailoring skills. This initiative is followed by offering business ideas, marketing strategies, and support to start their own enterprises. Through hands-on assistance in product marketing, beneficiaries achieve financial independence. Presently, over 1000 women have benefited from this program, with the numbers steadily rising.

Sukalyan has converted 500+ NGOs into skilled and well-managed organizations through their NGO Capacity Building Programme.
