The West Bengal Voluntary Health Association (WBVHA), a secular, non-profit organization founded in 1974, is dedicated to philanthropic causes. WBV Read moreHA is a state-level organization that promotes health and offers assistance in implementing and promoting basic healthcare services. The government and business sector collaborate with it, and NGOs, CBOs, and community organizations like SHGs actively support and participate in its operations. Promoting community health, social justice, and human rights in relation to the delivery and distribution of healthcare services are the main goals of WBVHA.

Programs

  • HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming

    The Project's Goal is

    1. To educate PLHIV on the correct understanding of HIV/AIDS.

    2. To provide family members of PLHIV with accurate information about HIV/AIDS.

    3. To inform PLHIV and their families about the government-level services available to them and to help them feel comfortable enough to take advantage of them.

    4. To give PLHIV the knowledge and self-assurance they need to maintain their cleanliness, health, and defense against opportunistic infections.

    5. To help PLHIV become more self-assured so they may behave normally and without stigma or discrimination. To establish a network with several CKIs (Community Key Influencers).

  • Peace Building and Training Program

    The goal of peacebuilding is to change the systemic factors that lead to lethal conflict and find peaceful solutions to injustice. Reconciliation after a conflict has ended, conflict prevention, conflict management, and conflict resolution and transformation are all examples of peacebuilding.

    Strengthening the adolescents' ability to make peace in three North Bengali areas is the goal of the peace-building and conflict-resolution training. Students, individuals, groups, and members of organizations are the training's target recipients.

  • Basic Health Care Support Programme

    The program's foundation is the basic needs approach, which views health as a fundamental human right. The program's overarching goal is to enhance the healthcare conditions of residents in 28 blocks from both states. The BHCS aims to accomplish its goals through neighbourhood-based programs such as the creation of community groups to raise awareness, foster critical thinking through debate and sharing, set up health forums to provide a common forum for ideation with all pertinent parties and distribute information through awareness camps, conferences, and health fairs to alter people's attitudes and behaviours regarding healthcare.
