Naya Sawera is a youth-based, registered non-governmental and not-for-profit charitable organisation operating under the Societies Registration Act. I Read morets primary focus lies in improving the welfare of underprivileged sections of society by providing various forms of assistance. The organisation is dedicated to ensuring that no individual faces deprivation of basic needs due to poverty, and it also endeavours to support and nurture the talents of those who lack access to proper facilities due to their challenging circumstances. The distinctiveness of "Naya Sawera" lies in its youth-driven approach, with most volunteers and core team members being young individuals. This setup fosters leadership skills, granting volunteers full autonomy in decision-making—a unique feature among other organisations. It aims to instil a sense of purpose and foresight in young minds, preparing them to face future challenges confidently. Each project's conception and execution are inspired by the youth, and to encourage greater youth involvement, the organisation actively participates in youth-friendly events and campaigns. The ultimate goal is to build a committed team of young individuals capable of collectively addressing the challenges of tomorrow.

Programs

  • Snehanchal Programme

    The Snehanchal project by Naya Sawera, is a shelter home for up to 25 children facing difficult conditions. The organisation aims to reunite children with their families whenever possible. If not, Snehanchal becomes their permanent home, providing love, security, nutrition, and medical care. Essential skills training, emotional support, and counselling are given, along with field trips and activities to abolish stigma and promote a sense of belonging. Naya Sawera also supports a care home for special kids and provides assistance to HIV-positive women for self-dependence and educational support for their children. The organisation has helped approximately 520 children reunite with their families, ensuring a brighter future for these young lives.

  • Sarthak Programme

    The Naya Sawera Society, established the "Sarthak" old age home in 2022 to provide assistance to lonely, helpless, and destitute elders. Currently, the home accommodates 12 elderly individuals in need.

  • Atmanirbhar Programme

    Project Atmanirbhar, is dedicated to empowering women by fostering financial independence and providing employment opportunities. Through tailoring skills training, the project enables financially needy women to lead self-reliant lives. They handcraft an impressive array of sustainable products, and profits are distributed to benefit the women involved, support children in a shelter home, and reinvest in expanding the project's impact. The campaign has already financially supported 22 families, and new members are trained in tailoring and beautician work.

  • Kokh - Pehla Kadam Campaign

    This campaign, focuses on reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate in India by providing proper vitamin and nutrition care to pregnant women for the first nine months and one month after delivery. The campaign also emphasizes raising awareness among women and their families about good pregnancy practices. Additionally, as a social service, the campaign offers scholarships for the educational needs of girl children born under this scheme. Since 2014, it has supported over 700 women in achieving healthy deliveries.

  • Days of Pride Campaign

    The "Days of Pride" campaign by Naya Sawera, aims to provide sanitary pads to girls and women who cannot afford this essential item each month. Recognizing the significance of sanitary pads, the campaign addresses the challenges faced by countless girls who resort to unsafe alternatives due to their unavailability. By distributing approximately 90,000 packets of sanitary pads (around 8 Lakh pads in total), the campaign ensures better menstrual hygiene for girls and ladies in government schools and slums. Since May 2016, the campaign has been spreading awareness about health and menstrual hygiene through the operation of 10 Sanitary Pads Banks in the slums and 3 government schools.
