Samajik Yuva Sangathan Sansthan (Social Youth Forum) is an organization founded to empower and unite the youth of Rajasthan. Registered in 2005, their Read more core values include combating social issues such as superstition, communalism, casteism, regionalism and religious fundamentalism, etc. Their mission is to involve young people in sustainable development and address issues related to youth, women, gender equality, child development, health and environment. They employ a peer-to-peer education model to engage and support youth in remote areas, while also collaborating with various institutions and stakeholders to promote effective youth engagement strategies and influence policy debates.

SYSS has reached approx 90,610 people from 18,122 families, through various initiatives, with over 25,532 students/adolescents empowered, 31,358 people recieved healthcare services, 12,717 youth empowered, 5,826 women empowered, and 7,075 people experiencing improvements in their livelihoods.

Programs

  • KHEL KHILADI (2018-2020)

    District

    BOSCH supported the cause of promoting sports as an integral part of the education system in India, recognizing the need for attitudinal transformation and mindset change at all levels. SYSS implemented the program, starting with schools as the primary focus. A survey of schools was conducted, followed by meetings with Principals and PE teachers to secure permissions. Detailed session plans were created, and students were selected for specific sports and mentored for competitions. The implementation emphasized imparting life skills, team effort and sportsmanship. It involved various activities like team building exercises, group games, interactive sessions beyond classroom approaches.

  • POP (Poorest Of the Poor) (2019-2020)

    District

    This targeted programme by BOSCH CSR, supported building of livelihoods and assets for the Poorest of the Poor (PoP) in villages of Bassi & Sanganer Blocks in Jaipur District. The program aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of this often neglected section of society. Samajik Yuva Sangthan Sansthan (SYSS) was responsible for the on-ground implementation of the project. A total of 102 families were provided support based on their immediate needs and requirements, identified during a baseline survey of the area.

  • LEAD (Life Skills Education for Adolescent Development) (2018-2020)

    District

    SYSS and BOSCH CSR collaborated to implement the Life Skill Education for Adolescents Development (LEAD) project, benefiting 5500 students in 27 Government schools across 10 Gram Panchayats in Bassi & Sanganer Blocks of Jaipur District. A team of experts was assigned to each school, identifying suitable activities aligned with school practices and academic curriculum. The activities included exercises, group games, interactive sessions, and beyond classroom approaches, aiming to instil a sense of contribution in each child. Competitions were organized at different levels for a competitive environment and to assess the impact of life skills education. Talent development activities, Summer Camps, and Skill Enhancing programs were also conducted to identify and nurture students' inner skills.

  • Holistic Village Development (HVD)

    Community participation is important for the overall development of villages. We aspire to achieve this by building community based institutions for community development, strengthening the community and Panchayati Raj
    Institutions (PRIs) through training and capacity building programmes. Also, co
    construction work was done based on the needs of the community, in which
    joint cooperation was done by the community, Panchayat and supporting
    organizations. Under this project, we also community co-created
    infrastructure renovation and new establishment for the rural community like promary schools, Anganwadis, Drinking water tanks, plantations and community library.

  • Community Development Center (CDC)

    District

    The holistic village development program was conducted by the Samajik Yuva Sangthan Sansthan (SYSS) in collaboration with Bosch India Foundation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. The program took place in the Tunga Panchayat Samiti of the Community Development Centre, Khajuria
    Tiwadian, Jaipur District. It aimed to benefit various sections of the community through a range of initiatives. Training & Capacity Building of Community
    Community Library Outreach Capms for Government Schemes Rural Youth Skill Enhansement . As part of the program, a community library was established to serve the youth of the area. Additionally, a computer skills center was set up to provide training in computer literacy. Moreover, a training room equipped with state-of-the-art facilities was created. Through their dedicated efforts, they have empowered hundreds of young people, including girls, by providing them with sustainable livelihood opportunities.SYSS regularly organizes various skill training workshops and programs, including:

    • Tally: Accounting software training to enhance financial management skills.
    • Computer and IT: Courses to improve digital literacy and technical skills.
    • Organic Farming: Training in sustainable agricultural practices.
    • Call Centre: Programs to develop communication and customer service skills.
    • Self Employment Training: Handicraft items, Cow dung diya.

    Their commitment to youth development is evident through these initiatives, which aim to equip young individuals with the necessary skills to thrive in today's competitive environment

  • Youth Development & Leaderhip

    District

    The Samajik Yuva Sangthan Sansthan (SYSS) participation in the Model G20
    program organized by the Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership (IIDL) in
    Mumbai. It was a significant opportunity for young leaders to engage in
    discussions and simulations related to global issues. The institute was named
    the official NGO partner of the event, showcasing its commitment to youth
    empowerment and participation in international forums. The program brought together 155 participants from across the country. SYSS Secretary Ramdayal San was recognized for the institute's active involvement, receiving an award from Mr. Seong Ming Foong, Consul General of Singapore.

  • WOMEN EMPOWERMENT & LEADERSHIP

    Women Adult Literacy (Gram Pathshala)
    SHG members strengthening If a woman is empowered then development of
    not only the family but the entire village is possible! Under the project for women
    empowerment, along with capacity building of the members of women self-help groups, Gram Pathshala (Adult Literacy Center) was conducted for Foundational Literacy, General knowledge and a positive effort was made to connect them with
    sustainable livelihood by developing skills in various subjects.

  • KISHORI CLUB

    District

    In many rural villages, the presence of girls in youth clubs has been minimal, depriving them of a proper platform for advancement within their communities. Recognizing this disparity, the formation of Kishori Clubs was initiated to empower young girls. These clubs have been established in various villages, including ten in Bassi and Tunga blocks. Through the formation of these clubs, over 129 adolescent girls have been connected, enabling them to participate in programs focused on education, health, skill development, and their contributions to village development. This initiative underscores a commitment to gender inclusivity and the holistic empowerment of young girls in rural areas.

  • HEALTH AND HYGIENE (Strengthening of Health Care at the grassroots level )

    There are many challenges in providing quality health care in the rural areas, and one of those is “Refresher trainings” and availability of proper tools and equipment. A small step was taken by SYSS in collaboration with BOSCH where training and capacity building of Aaganwadi workers who come under Mother and Child Health & Nutrition (MCHN) program was facilitated. Similarly Training and Capacity of ASHA & ANM under Maternal and Child Health was also conducted. Medical equipment and other material to PHC Piliya was also provided.

  • Green India (State Wide Plantation Program)

    District

    Plants and trees play an important role in our lives. From providing the basic needs like food and fresh air to maintaining the ecological balance, plants touch each aspect of life on this planet. Still people do not understand its importance and are insensitive towards protection of trees and plants. SYSS has implemented programs for creating awareness about environment protection and for motivating people to plant more trees besides making all efforts to save the existing ones. People are motivated to adopt one or two trees in their
    neighbourhood and raise them like their own child. The efforts of SYSS have been greatly appreciated with households having given written commitment on oath letter for protection and raising of more than 7509 plants during recent few years.

  • Save Water Save Eirth (WATER HARVESTING and RENOVATION)

    Rajasthan, the biggest state in India is also the driest state. The hardships faced by the residents of desert state have developed a feeling of compassion also towards water amongst them. They know the importance of this scarce resource which is literally a lifeline for them. SYSS also undertakes programs not only to educate about water conservation but also to motivate youth and villagers to save old water bodies. Renovation of traditional water harvesting structures is undertaken with collective participation (shramdaan) of the community. Awareness for conservation of water is created by running
    Save Water Campaigns, by organizing Painting & Essay Writing Competition on save water theme and through oath ceremonies in schools, colleges and communities.

  • PANCHAYAT RAJ INSTITUTIONS S TRENGTHENING (RURAL DEVELOPMENT)

    SYSS has been working for the strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions and the rural communities from last 15 years. SYSS has been supporting the communities in MENREGA, and other government schemes focused on rural communities. In this we have partner with various organizations for implementing the projects. Under the Third Government Campaign, the Rajasthan State Level Panchayat Parliament was organized online by the Samajik Yuva Sagthan Sansthan (SYSS), in which the eminent Gandhian Dr.
    SN Subbarao and the founder of the Third Government Campaigner and former director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan New Delhi Under the guidance of Dr. Chandrasekhar Pran, were present. On this occasion an appeal was made to the participants to take initiative and make villages ideal by sharing detailed information on the institutional development of village panchayats and the role of youth in the development of panchayats.
