The organization has been working with women in the developing world to foster localised self-sufficiency and sustainability. We host innovative programs in Access to Renewable Energy, Education, Women’s Economic and Digital Participation, Enterprise, Women’s Wellness; by and through rural women. Barefoot Solutions produce results for 14 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.   Barefoot College International has replicated and scaled its work through the establishment of campuses in India, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Madagascar and is currently working with the Government of Fiji for the construction of a Barefoot Women’s Vocational Training Centre for the Pacific Islands. In 2021, Barefoot College International was, for the 7th year recognized within the Top 20 of the Global Journal’s Top 500 NGO list.
