Abhivyakti had its beginnings as an informal collective of young social activists driven by a vision to revitalize the social and cultural fabric of G Read moreiridih district. This region, once vibrant with cultural activities such as Srijanutsav, natyamahotsava, and folk arts exhibitions, had experienced a void in recent times. The group's primary aspiration was to reignite values of peace, non-violence, national unity, and sustainable development practices that were deeply ingrained in the district's past. The essence of Abhivyakti Foundation lies in its collaboration with local youth, aiming to cultivate a spirit of volunteerism and nurture social entrepreneurship and creativity. The foundation's guiding philosophy is deeply rooted in the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, and it subscribes to the endogenous theory of development. This approach underscores the belief in the inherent potential of local communities and the significance of bottom-up planning for the upliftment of the most marginalized sections of society. This holistic perspective necessitates the active engagement of local communities in participatory processes that drive development, making them active stakeholders in their own growth journey.

By reducing cultivation costs, promoting sustainable land use, and establishing resilient production systems, it contributes to the long-term viability of farming practices. -
Education
Balancing development with environmental preservation is key to ensuring sustainability for generations to come. Abhivyakti’s educational initiatives, supported by Jamshetji Tata Trust, center on Adolescent Education.
The foundation engages with adolescents and young individuals in active citizenship, focusing on 40 villages in Benabad block of Giridih. This pilot initiative's success is extended to other regions. The approach involves enhancing skills, fostering self-exploration, encouraging effective communication, and instilling assertive behavior. Peer groups, life skill education, and project work bolster responsible citizenship.
Many participants have become proactive volunteers, catalyzing positive change in their communities. The "Kaam Mango Abhiyan" initiative facilitated job demand awareness, benefitting families under government schemes. This collective effort eases poverty's grip and empowers communities to utilize their rights and resources effectively. -
