  • Since

    2015

Established in 2015 under the guidance of Prof. Prabal Kumar Sen, Founder Chairperson of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Former Professor Read moreof Economics at XLRI, Jamshedpur, Relearn Foundation (RELF) embodies a vision to address the critical areas of Education, Environment, and Empowerment. Dr. Mita Tarafder, upon completing a PG certificate course on Entrepreneurship Management at XLRI, founded this NGO trust with a commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and undertaking social welfare initiatives for marginalized communities. Accredited with certifications for 12A and 80G, our foundation operates as a non-profit organization based in Jharkhand. At RELF, we adhere to the guiding principle of "learning by doing." Our focus lies in promoting skill-based training, science model making, and digital education as part of a relearning process, advocating for practical application over mere knowledge acquisition. We strive to raise awareness about this approach within the public, particularly the civil society, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning. Our efforts extend to providing quality education through innovative learning methods to underprivileged students, including English language proficiency, creative activities such as painting, drawing, singing, and yoga, thereby nurturing holistic development among them.

Programs

  • SAHAAJ PATHSHALA

Originally known as the Digital Literacy Mission (DLM), Sahaaj Pathshala was established in 2010 by Dr. Mita Tarafder, founder trustee and Chief, with the inaugural classroom situated at NML Agrico campus, Jamshedpur. The primary objective behind this endeavor is to provide high-quality education, mentorship, and holistic support to socially disadvantaged students within the community.

What commenced with just three students in 2010 has since evolved into a sustainable and ongoing initiative. As of the fiscal year 2022-23, our network has expanded to encompass 23 community centers operating across three states: Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal. These community classrooms accommodate a minimum of 10-15 underprivileged students each, who benefit from free or nominal fees for access to quality education and counseling provided by RELF tutors, also referred to as "Community mothers," and mentors.

  • Jam Street

On January 29, 2023, Jam Street, an event organized by JUSCO, took place at Sakchi-Golchakar in Jamshedpur. Relearn Foundation actively participated in Jam Street, showcasing their presence through two stalls. At these stalls, team members exhibited a variety of eco-friendly products, including fly ash products and paper-based items such as paper plates, green garbage bags, paper brick models, planter covers, and key hangers. Additionally, members of the Relearn Foundation team provided demonstrations of electronic kits and 3D models to engage attendees.

As part of the event, a drawing competition was organized, drawing participation from students of Saahaj Pathshala and other local schools, fostering creativity and community involvement.
