Over the past 34 years, it has dedica Read moreted itself to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children with various disabilities, including mental retardation, cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, and hearing impairments, alongside underprivileged children without disabilities. This institution was born from the determination of its late founder, driven by a personal understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Its mission is to uplift and empower the differently abled community by providing them with the right support and education. Throughout its journey, the Center For Disabled Children has seen remarkable growth and development, thanks to the contributions of countless individuals who have generously given their time, talents, resources, and support. With a team of over 250 dedicated professionals, this institution has touched the lives of thousands of children, both with and without disabilities, striving to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Impact

The Center for Disabled Children has made an impact reaching over 10,000 disabled individuals. Collaborating with 57 trained Resource teachers, they identified 20,000 disabled people in rural areas. Over 5 years, its support expanded to 8 mandals, aided by Resource teachers. The centre conducted 150+ operations, distributed 1200 calipers, 500 tricycles, 400 wheelchairs, 20 hearing aids, and 300 special equipment. More than 150 students pursued further education, with some achieving MBA, MCA, and engineering degrees. Numerous former students and staff secured Government jobs, including over 20 sponsored by the institution. It conducted 250+ medical camps, assisting 5,000+ children with certificates, passes, and scholarships.

    The Center For Disabled Children extends its services beyond its institutional activities through various outreach programmes. These include conducting surveys, assessment camps in rural areas, and offering counselling services to facilitate medical certificates, bus passes, scholarships, and employment opportunities. The organisation also provides essential medical assistance, including operations, aids and equipment for the handicapped. Early intervention is a key focus, and it engages in Community Based Rehabilitation through village camps, house visits, school visits, and education for parents and resource teachers. These efforts aim to reach and support a wider community of individuals with disabilities, promoting their well-being and inclusion.

  • Hostel Facility

    The Centre For Disabled Children offers hostel facilities to underprivileged children, especially those from distant villages requiring specialized education and care. The selection of hostel residents considers their family backgrounds and specific needs. These children receive individual sponsorship from supporters in England and Holland. Currently, over 65 children benefit from this sponsorship, ensuring their education and well-being until they can become self-sufficient. The organisation's hostel has a substantial waiting list of children eagerly seeking sponsorship opportunities, highlighting the demand for this crucial support.
