This contemporary Gurukul is a beacon for Kuchipudi classical dance, enriched by support from dance experts, creative minds, and international facilitators. It's dedicated to perfecting classical and contemporary dance forms and promoting a holistic approach to art and life. Over sixteen years, it has evolved into a hub for arts promotion and education, captivating global audiences for two decades with excellence, avant-garde themes, and daring ventures. With Ministry backing, it combines modern education tools with traditional Gurukula values. In the past decade, it organised art events and provided Guru-Shishya parampara-based training in India and abroad, covering yoga, mythology, acting, music, aesthetics, history, philosophy, and more. Students also learn to lead workshops, teach, choreograph, and perform professionally in addition to hosting weekend sessions in yoga, dance, meditation, theatre, and more.

  • Online Kuchipudi Certification Courses

    Shambhavi School of Dance (SSD) offers Online Kuchipudi Certification Courses, a unique blend of modern technology and traditional Gurukul training. These courses, starting from August 5, 2020, cater to Kuchipudi enthusiasts both in India and abroad. The programme comprises three levels: Mūlādhyāyana, Bhāvādhyāyana, and Rasādhyāyana, each designed to enhance students' skills and knowledge in Kuchipudi, acting, music, rhythm, and more. Renowned dance Gurus, including Dr. Vedantam Radheshyam and Guru Vyjayanthi Kashi, lead practical lessons. The course also incorporates elements of the Telugu language and theoretical aspects taught by experts like Dr. K Nagaraja Rao and Smt. Roopashree Madhusudan. Tarangams and the Social Anthropology of Dance are covered by Dr. Sailaja Desai.

  • Dancejathre Programme

    Dancejathre, India's inaugural dance fair curated by Smt. Vyjayanthi Kashi of Shambhavi School of Dance achieved acclaim from 2008 to 2019 in Bangalore. Drawing 3000+ visitors annually, it hosted 300 international artists and 25 exhibitors. The festival's mission is to bring diverse dance forms closer to art enthusiasts and the public, offering activities for all ages. It includes talent competitions, workshops by maestros, performances by renowned dancers, stalls, exhibitions, and a unique "dancer's wall." The 9th edition introduces "Nrityashodha Research in Dance," "Making of Yakshagana Jewellery" workshops, and sessions for children aged 10-15.

  • Nayika Programme

    Shambhavi School of Dance (SSD) hosted Nayika 2017, an event where they awarded Guru Sumathy Kaushal with the Natyasastra Award, recognizing her remarkable contributions to Kuchipudi. The seminar on "Contribution of Women to Kuchipudi" featured insightful talks by eminent figures in the field, including Guru Bala Kondala Rao, Guru Smita Shastri, Guru Maddali Usha Gayatri, and Guru Vyjayanthi Kashi, who also graced the event with their performances. Roopashree Madhusudan skillfully hosted the event, and the Shambhavi Family provided invaluable backstage support. This event was a significant success, thanks to the contributions of Rasikas and all involved.

  • Nrityashodha – Re-search in Dance Programme

    "Nrityashodha – Re-search in Dance" presents captivating attractions, including a Dance Photo Exhibition and insightful Nrityashodha Lecture Demonstrations.
    On February 9, 2020, it helped rasikas delve further into the realm of dance research with "Treatment of Abstract Themes in Classical Dance" by Dr. Shobha Shashikumar, "Koravanji Literature in Karnataka" by Dr. Manorama B N, and "Reconstruction of Padavarna to Thematic Presentation" by Madulika Srivatsa.
