Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled works to create a world which does not discriminate between the abled and the disabled. It provides training and job Read moreskills to the specially abled to help them towards financial and social independence. Education is also a part of its initiatives as it supports visually impaired students with study material for completing their academics and securing certifications from reputed institutions. It engages with Government and private sector organisations to secure relevant employment for the specially-abled people and conducts workshops and seminars to highlight the issues faced by disabled people to try to change social mindsets towards disability.

Secured employment to 500 visually impaired youth in Government and Private sectors, trained 3000 visually challenged students in computer and job skills and supported over 2000 specially-abled people with walking canes, wheelchairs etc.
Programs

Prakruti Snehi Programme
This programme is the organisation's attempt to help conserve the environment and also benefit specially-abled people. It conducts regular collection drives across companies and collects newspapers, shredded paper, cartons, A4 size sheets, old magazines, used books text and notebooks, plastic materials and other inorganic products that are then sold to recycling units.
The money received from the sale is used to fund the Trust’s activities, also, part of the paper is used to create and develop braille sheets for visually impaired students.

Cultural Programme
The Trust looks out for hidden talent in its students and provides opportunities to them to perform on stage. It works to provide training to the students in fine arts like dance, vocal and instrumental music. Cultural groups from Snehadeep have performed for a wide range of audiences in India, the USA and the UK.

Mobility Training Programme
Mobility training forms an important skill for specially-abled people. The Trust trains people with disabilities to move around safely using equipment such as long canes and other physical aids.

Skill Development Livelihood Programme
Snehadeep trust for the disabled trains visually impaired youth in IT sector skills to help them secure good employment considering that knowledge of technology is the most relevant skill in the 21st century. It makes use of JAWS(Job Access with Speech), a screen-reading software to teach the visually challenged. English language training is also imparted to improve speaking skills, boost confidence and build professional capabilities.
