Vidya Poshak provides financial assistance, knowledge centre services and bridge training to poor meritorious youth. It encourages young graduates fro Read morem local communities to serve as teachers in low-income schools to provide committed and quality education to poor children and also provide job-based training in the Hi-Tech domain of VLSI/Embedded/Software. It addresses the problem of quality teaching and teachers by using technology to reach remote rural children and schools and operates Vidya Poshak libraries which act as knowledge centres providing free books and academic material to poor students.

Impact
4652 students graduated and settled through gainful employment and their families are out of the poverty cycle forever, 1,35,000+ youth were directly trained through its skill development programmes, more than 1,87,000 youth utilized Its youth centres where they are provided academic books, counselling, computers and internet facilities and more than 380 Million Indian Rupees invested in the last 18 years for empowerment of youth.

To provide financial assistance to meritorious students who cannot afford to continue higher education owing to their financial difficulties.
To guide and train the students towards achieving excellence in professional and personal life through ‘skill to succeed’ training
To provide training and placement for rural unemployed fresh graduates from vernacular education.

Programs

Abdul Kalam Susandhi Fellowship
Enables children from poor families to pursue professional programmes in the hi-tech domain of VLSI/Embedded/Software. This programme is also designed as a "earn while you learn" programme which enables the students to start earning early and support their families along with their education.

EVidyaloka
The EVidyaloka initiative is designed to address two important issues, teacher shortage and teacher quality in rural and remote regions. It works to provide education through volunteer teachers residing in urban areas who can connect through technology to children in remote locations and impart quality education in an attempt to address both issues.

Yuva Fellowship Programme
StateThis programme seeks to involve young promising graduates in gainful social activities leading to income and employment. It identifies committed graduates from local communities to serve as full-time teachers to children from low-income communities in under-resourced Government schools for a period of two years allowing them to develop into advocates of educational excellence and equity.

Nurture Merit Programme
Is a focused programme aimed at supporting meritorious students coming from low-income families to help them complete their higher education and graduate successfully, leading to better employment opportunities. The students are helped financially, attached to mentors who guide them, are provided digital services to assist them and receive need and life-based training to help them choose the right career and mature into informed citizens.

Vidya Poshak Libraries & Knowledge Resource Centres
It has set up knowledge resource centres and book banks across prominent cities in Karnataka to aid underprivileged students by providing them with course books and information. The centres provide information about career paths, opportunities to train in job-related skills, prepare for competitive and national level entrance examinations and facilitate interviews besides acting as a space to interact with one another to share relevant knowledge and experiences.

Nurture Merit Program
Nurture Merit Program Is a well-designed, structured and focused program to support bright students coming from economically challenged families for their College Education to complete their Graduation degree leading to a meaningful employment/self employment. The program has the following integrated services. • Financial Assistance: This will cover college fees, transportation and exam fees. Along with this additional amount for coaching is given for a few performers. For some extreme need based cases (10%) additional amount is also given to cover room and boarding • Digital Services & Mentoring: Students will be connected with mentors to get one on one guidance and also various digital services will be provided to the students. • Skill Training: Every student will be provided with various skill and need based trainings to enhance communication/life skills and employment opportunities. Along with this to ensure creating good, sensitive citizens for the society.

Yuva Fellowship
Our Vision through fellowship program is to provide Excellent Education to every child in Karnataka. We aim to provide an opportunity to passionate, committed and most promising young graduates from local communities to serve as full-time teachers to children from low-income communities in Karnataka’s most under-resourced Govt. schools. The teaching fellow will spend two years teaching in rural government schools as a full time teacher teaching Mathematics, Science and English Subjects. In Long term our alumni will become advocates of Excellent Education & work for Educational Equity.

Vidya Poshak Libraries & Knowledge Resource Centers
Vidya Poshak realises that resources for youth form an integral part of empowering the student community. With this in mind Vidya Poshak has setup Knowledge resource centers and Book banks to cater to entire student community. There are various activities organized in the knowledge resource centers for the benefit of Student community. Objectives of our Knowledge Resource Centers To create positive energy in youth by providing free access to information and facilitate hands on learning. To create an environment where the youth could get hands on experiences in Job skills such as Communication skills, Aptitude Skills, Opportunities for learning group work, discussions, presentations by conducting periodic workshops & trainings. To facilitate the youths to prepare for Competitive exams and National level Entrance exams by providing them required daily Newspapers & Periodicals. To guide and assist the youths for online applications to apply for Bank Exams, Competitive exams and any other National level entrance exams. To assist the youth by providing information regarding career options & facilitate walk-in interviews for graduates and non graduates through our existing contacts with employers. To provide youth a platform and space for engaging with the other youth and to facilitate involvement of community in endeavors of youth in bringing social change.

Overall 480 Million Indian rupees invested in last 21 years for Empowerment of Youth.
In all 4800 graduates have settled through gain full employment in their life and brought their families out the clutches of economic backwardness.
