PAHAL is a resource agency which addresses issues surrounding gender equality and women rights. Throughout Madhya Pradesh, Pahal organises capacity bu Read moreilding programs for various government and non-government organizations. The organisation is actively involved in sensitization/orientation programs on the Domestic Violence Act 2005, supporting women who survive violence and promoting gender equity laws. PAHAL also counsels victims of domestic violence and harassment, guides them about the legal procedures, helps them in communicating with protection officers, police department, Women & Child Development department and lawyers. PAHAL runs a medical centre at Indore which provides free of cost services to the poor slum dwellers of surrounding areas. The center provides medical examination, ANC/PNC checkups, vaccination, free medicines and counseling on nutrition & family planning.

Programs

  • Khajrana Medical Centre - Indore

    From 2013 PAHAL & Volvo Employee Aid Association jointly initiated a community medical centre at Khajrana slum in Indore. The aim of “Community Medical Centre” is to provide free access of health services to poor slum dwellers of Khajrana and surrounding areas. Since January 2013 our community medical centre expands health care facilities to “Out Patient Department”, Inner Patient Department, general health checkups, vaccinations, Lab. Investigations, distribution of medicines, counseling of girls/women on safe motherhood & nutrition and slum awareness meetings on health issues arises in the slums. In these two years we not only provide free health services to poor people but also develop reputation and faith among the opinion leaders, people and administration

  • Securing Nutrition And Enhancing Resilience

    The GIZ Securing Nutrition, Enhancing Resilience (SENU) project in India implements a nutrition-sensitive integrated approach linking nutrition education with a multi-sectoral Community Nutrition Garden initiative and nutrition sensitive micro-planning at community level. The objective is to improve the nutritional situation of 424,000 women at reproductive age and 86,000 young children (6-23 months).

    To promote social norms change for effective implementation of laws against child marriage and gender inequality in 15 villages of Barwani District, Madhya Pradesh.

  • Iimpact - Girls Education Program

    IIMPACT provides educational opportunity to girls, from socially and economically disadvantaged communities of India, who traditionally have no access to schooling. Our aim is to break the cycle of illiteracy that girls from such communities are mired in. This is done through local community-based Learning Centers, where they get meaningful and stimulating education up to Year 5 and are guided to their entry in to mainstream education. We are supported by corporations, trusts and individuals who want to make a difference.

Creating a gender-just society where women have equal opportunities to access, control, and benefit from development requires raising awareness, advocating for policy reforms, developing women's capacity, empowering them to take control of their lives, and monitoring and evaluating progress. By following this theory of change, we can create a more just and equitable society for all.

Milestones & Track Record

PAHAL JAN SAHAYOG VIKAS SANSTHAN, Indore (M.P.) is registered under “Society Registration Act 1973”. It has been working in Indore city and associated with other district of Madhya Pradesh since 2003. PAHAL is committed to empower women and youth through Gender Equity Programs, awareness on legal laws for women & children, vocational training programs and education for all. PAHAL aims the holistic development of women in economical as well as social life too. Beside Gender Equity programs PAHAL also works on cross sectional issues like Health, Education, Livelihood and climate change to empower community especially the women and girl child. PAHAL implementing a wide range of programs like SAMBAL, Khajrana Medical Centre, Special classes for drop out children, SHG development and Skill development programs in Indore, Barwani, Khargone and Burhanpur.

In coordination with NHM, TDH, Welthungerhilfe and WCD we are working in Barwani to eradicate malnutrition. Our presence is in every block of Barwani.

In association with IIMPACT we are operating special bridge course classes for girls in Khargone.

To cater health care services in urban slums of Indore we operate a community medical centre funded by VOLVO employee Aid Association.

This program is implemented by PAHAL through various sources. Organisation is working as a resource agency for WCD, corporates Police Department, GOs/NGOs and civil society for gender equity programs.
