Works with the aim of offering academic and non-academic developmental opportunities to children and youth by providing them with learning material an Read mored training through its own centres and existing private schools. The pre-school programme is aimed at the overall development of children aged 2 to 6. It is a 3-year programme which works towards holistic personality development through culturally suitable, economically viable and age-appropriate experiences and activities. Its primary school programme is aimed at enabling students to achieve academic and non-academic excellence through theme-based self-learning. It also operates its own teacher training centre which provides pre-service and in-service training to teachers in the field of early childhood education, child behaviour, classroom management techniques, stakeholder investment, resource management, helper engagement and facilitation. The English Star programme aims at developing reading proficiency in English through self-learning exercises in reading, vocabulary building, listening and speaking.


Issue

Education and other learning opportunities are very limited for children. Here also, the teaching methodologies are too outdated which leads to demotivated children.


Action

It offers innovative and activity-based learning techniques to the children. Parents are encouraged to admit their children at a very early age and be a part of their child's academic journey. It also works to provide relevant training and coaching to teachers to improve learning outcomes.

  • 7C Schools

    The current way of learning does not support 21st-century skills, So, Hippocampus is intending to bring a change to promote the 7C concept of learning which include critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, community engagement, cultural appreciation and caring.

    The approach is to support children in building up their skills and learning to apply them in day-to-day life.

  • Ninja Programmes

    Ninja Programmes are the organisation's attempt to connect good teachers to students in remote locations. It provides a non-judgemental and guidance-based environment.

    Through sub programmes like chatterbox ninja, reading ninja and suvidya ninja the students are coached in English, encouraged to read and are provided application based coaching.

    The students follow a beginner, apprentice, junior and expert level of learning as they advance through the academic process.

  • Reading Programme

    This programme motivates children to read more and more. Partnering with well know entities and the Government of Karnataka, It set out to build libraries in schools, design and deliver reading programmes throughout the country and launched the National library week to celebrate reading and libraries.

  • Why Why Early Years

    This programme functions on the fact that children are naturally curious and have a lot of “Why’s” in their minds.

    The programme follows an inquiry-based learning and encourages children to ask questions, developing good relations between the teacher, parent and children and safely exposing the child to various surroundings encouraging experiential learning.

  • Early Years Learning

    Hippocampus enable early learning by following the approach of “Learn By Doing”. It believes that 90% of the child's brain development happens before the age of six.

    The curriculum consists of activity-based learning, making the child feel respected and heard, encouraging questions and supporting different levels of learning and speeds. The progress of each child is closely monitored throughout the learning cycle.

    Parents are kept in the loop and informed of their child’s development at each stage.
