Central Square Foundation (CSF) is focused on providing all children in India with an equitable and high-quality education. Its mission is to achieve Read moreproductive, flexible, and long-term reform in the Indian education system, with the goal of providing equal learning opportunities for all children. Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN), EdTech, Early Childhood Education (ECE), and Affordable Private Schools are CSF's key areas of attention. It works with Government agencies at the national as well as state levels, establishing policies and partnering with other organisations in the education ecosystem to bring about significant reform. CSF's structured approach strives to improve student learning outcomes across the country by creating capacity and reinforcing evidence-based innovative solutions through research collaborations with experts, academics, and independent researchers. Although CSF is not directly involved with schools or children, It does provide technical, academic, and project management support to Governments and works closely with ecosystem stakeholders to address the root causes of problems and improve overall school education quality in India, with a focus on primary grades and children aged 3 to 18.

Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Programme
The Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme, enabled by CSF, focuses on teaching children foundational mathematical and reading abilities. CSF works with state governments to develop and roll out FLN programmes that are consistent with the NIPUN Bharat framework. It collaborates closely with government stakeholders and ecosystem partners to develop mission goals, objectives, and a roadmap. CSF also provides technical and management support to guarantee that these missions are carried out successfully.
-
EdTech Programme
Its EdTech programme uses technology to improve student learning both at home and at school. It focuses on assisting Governments in implementing relevant software solutions and creating public resources to support the EdTech ecosystem, as well as supporting the development and adoption of high-quality learning solutions for low-income communities. CSF works with Rocket Learning to provide digital learning materials via WhatsApp, with Google.org to create a library of syllabus-based videos called TicTacLearn, and with Top Parent to provide customised resources to parents. It uses Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) technologies such as Mindspark, ConveGenius, and Funtoot in schools to tailor education to each student's learning ability.
-
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programme
This programme seeks to address the absence of ECE provision and its importance in Anganwadis and Government pre-primary sections, which leads to low learning results in young children. It includes research, influencing, and knowledge collaborations to evaluate ECE models and support based on data, to improve ECE quality at the national and state levels. CSF provides State Governments with counselling and techno-managerial assistance in establishing and expanding new solutions for spreading quality ECE. This assistance includes improving teaching time, improving teacher support, and enhancing understanding of caregivers of ECE and their role as facilitators of home learning.
-
Affordable Private Schools Programme
CSF's Affordable Private Schools programme addresses the problem of insufficient data on learning outcomes in private schools. Its strategy involves closing the understanding gap by giving parents statistics on school quality resulting from uniform exams in primary and middle school. Furthermore, the programme seeks to develop evidence on private schools by sharing data and research findings, promoting a positive story that motivates these schools to put learners first and improve academic results.
