With its campaigns, working alongside government bodies, IYFS aims to educate people to develop a civic sense and take steps to save the environment f Read morerom further damage. The campaigns are run by volunteers with a majority of young individuals. Apart from environment protection, focus is also on e-governance, traffic awareness, road safety and child rights. Creative methods such as rallies, flashmobs, street plays, skits & songs, seminars and workshops, posters, banners, handouts, flyers, media, social network, radio talks, and short films are used to raise awareness about various issues. It has a total of five successfully running campaigns. MESSAGE (Making Each School Student Aware of Good Environment) is an initiative to teach children about the importance of conserving water, energy and food. Through its P4 (Prevent Polythene Bags -Protect Planet) campaign, it aims to generate awareness about the importance of reducing usage of plastic items in our day to day lives. Its SMART (Safety Means Alert on Road in Traffic) initiative aims to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the city. Through its SWAP (Solid Waste Awareness Program) campaign, it aims to carry out solid waste management projects in two Municipal Wards of the city. H2O (Harvest To Overflow): Aims to reduce the fast-emptying groundwater levels and drying up of existing water-bodies in Vizag.
