About

Anahad is a music organization working for preservation of folk music using technology and providing a platform for artists to collaborate with fellow Read more musicians, curators, writers and thinkers. The organization has documented several artists introducing them to the rest of the world, digitally. It also takes care of artists' rights and intellectual properties through copyrights. Chaiti and Machali are two folk fusion projects inspired by folk tradition of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively. These projects redesign the folklores for the present generation. The organization supports a musical society Eclectica, for encouraging students and musicians to exchange ideas. The projects under Eclectica are dedicated to a specific theme expressed as songs or short musical films. Free music classes are offered to raise money thorough donations, for tribal folk music documentation. Contemporary music groups collaborate with tribal folk groups and then participate in a competition 'Equals', initiated by Anahad. This project is designed to uplift tribal folk musicians and provide them accessible production technologies. New Musical groups are welcomed to collaborate with the organization in order to popularize various forms of music.
