By concentrating on sustainable natural fibre and regenerative agricultural value chains like bamboo, banana, and non-timber forest produce, Industree equips women with green business skills and connects them to markets for eco-friendly products. With 35 for-profit women's collectives and four producer companies in place, the organisation supplies sustainable homewares and apparel that adhere to global retail standards. Industree's comprehensive support system offers training, funding, digital resources, and more to entrepreneurs. Having positively impacted half a million lives and facilitating over 58 million USD in market access, Industree focuses on Equity, Gender, and Climate considerations. Through partnerships with major retailers such as IKEA, H&M Home, Fabindia, and the Future Group, Industree integrates women into climate-positive value chains, granting them economic security, enhanced social status, better healthcare, improved education, and resilience to challenges. By owning and leading net positive, creative production processes, these women gain confidence as agents of societal change. Industree has achieved impact, including doubling access to productive resources like assets, employment, and income for beneficiaries, furthermore, there's been a significant 76.5% rise in agreement with the notion of gender equality in access to social, economic, and political opportunities, it has generated 66.5% new employment opportunities, with 27.3% experiencing enhanced employment by joining enterprises. Notably, 87% have witnessed an income increase, while 86% have shown improvements in soft skills geared toward enterprise and entrepreneurship development.

Operating in Tamil Nadu, it manufactures hand-woven baskets from recycled banana bark, serving international clients like Ikea and H&M. With an aim to integrate disadvantaged women into the formal economy, GreenKraft provides labour standards, social benefits, skill training, and empowerment, resulting in improved family resilience and enhanced quality of life for future generations. The company's success highlights the potential of empowering individuals through ownership and meaningful work, leading to positive social impact and economic growth.

  • Ektha Apparel Initiative

    Ektha Apparel, established in 2013 in Bengaluru, is a socially conscious enterprise owned by its producers. Focusing on contemporary ethnic clothing and accessories, the company's 150 producer-members share equal ownership. This inclusive model grants them improved access to resources, including financial support, training, social security, and childcare services. With a significant majority of these members being women and occupying supervisory roles, Ektha Apparel emphasizes gender equity. Its impressive monthly production of 18,000 pieces is driven by a well-functioning unit running at 80% efficiency, complemented by an in-house design studio, training centre, and finishing unit.
