Dehaati works with the aim of preserving the traditional art of handicraft and local values through a range of handmade clay-based products. The produ Read morects are made by rural artisans who employ their traditional skills and make use of pure local clay. Its main focus is on pottery. Major products include water jugs, braided bottles, bowls, dahi handi and oil lamps. They also provide services such as customized designing for interior and outdoor space decoration, pottery workshops, design facilitation and pottery tours. They collaborate with design, architecture and interior decoration firms and other entities to set up theme-based organizations which showcase rural art and handicrafts. They are currently involved in projects with GoodEarth, Delhi (2017) and Interior Architecture (2017). The project with Good Earth deals with exploring traditional shapes with 'Raku' and later develop a range of products. 'Raku' is a technique involving a rapid firing cycle, where the pots are placed in and removed from the kiln at monitored temperatures. 'Raku' depicts a combination of art and science. The project with Interior Architecture involves making room partitions with toys in the village of Anjar. Thousands of toys are thrown out every day from houses in Anjar and they are innovatively reused to make partitions. Their previous projects have been with Anantaya, Jaipur (2017), Bodhi Tree, Mumbai (2016), and Living Lightly, IGNCA, New Delhi (2016). The project with Living Lightly, IGNCA showcased the lives of the Maldhari tribes of Kachch. Souvenir products inspired from the characteristics of a Maldhari life and their animal breeds were designed and showcased in the retail exhibition. It collaborated with Bodhi Tree, Mumbai to design a customized range of clay accessories. These are artistically decorated by coiling and wrapping with hemp or jute. As part of Anantaya's annual event MAHI ROJ, Dehaati customized a range of water bottles and dahi handi.
