Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA), affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), was established Read more to promote the objectives of the United Nations and its agencies. The organization works in close relationship with the UN's agencies, including United Nations Development Programme; United Nations Population Fund; United Nations Environment Programme; United Nations Children's Fund; United Nations Conference on Trade and Development; United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization; the WFUNA; and the regional office of Asia and Pacific, participating in their various developmental programs. It also observes UN Days such as World Food Day, Human Rights Day, International Literacy Day, World Health Day, International Women's Day, and UN Day etc. In addition, it organizes debates, seminars, symposiums, debates, competitions, exhibitions, and workshops on topics related to the UN. IFUNA works to involve people from all areas of society in United Nations activities, in addition to working with government organizations, press, and diplomatic missions. IFUNA is the only body to represent India in the UN Forums. The organization also promotes the spread of information and education about UN's sustainable development goals. It works to spread awareness among students, youth, and communities, about the role and work of the United Nations and its Specialized Agencies in eradicating poverty, developing economies, fighting diseases, promoting agriculture, and spreading technology. In addition, it extends a special focus on involving students from schools, colleges, and universities in environmental programs.
