Womenite originated from an urgent desire to confront the inadequacies of a society thriving on imperfect ideals. It is a youth-led social initiative Read morecommitted to fostering change through education, love, and empowerment, aiming to establish a gender-equal and accepting society. The belief in the necessity of gender equality inspired the team to form this organization. Its mission is determined by its dedication to improving society practically by sharing information and raising awareness about critical issues. Its work involves creating an inclusive world that appreciates people for their uniqueness, rejecting imposed ideas of gender, sexuality, ability, race, religion, class, or caste. Womenite's persistent efforts pursue multiple goals, ultimately striving for 'Equality' in a gender-biased world. Various workshops focus on addressing gender stereotypes, their hindrance to personal growth, and promoting gender neutrality against inequalities.

Impact

Having reached 250 schools, conducted 500 campaigns, and engaged 2500 volunteers, Womenite's efforts have left a significant impact, touching the lives of over 200,000 students and women. In the 1st wave of COVID19 pandemic, we initiated #EndPeriodPoverty campaign to distribute over 12 lakhs (1,200,000) sanitary napkins (for free) impacting over 50,000 girls and women by associating with Delhi Commission for Women, Delhi commission for Protection of Child Rights, District Magistrate, MLAs, Member of Parliament, etc. Further, we scaled up this campaign across 10 states in India. ​In the 2nd wave of Covid19, we built oxygen concentrators bank and channelised over 50 oxygen concentrators across 4 states: Delhi, Punjab, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, and helped saving more than 150 lives during the oxygen crisis during the pandemic. We are actively working under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign of the Indian government. Like, we conducted Naari ki Chaupals with Anganwadi workers in 17 different villages in association with District Magistrate, North Delhi. With District Magistrate (South Delhi), we conducted workshops with over 44,000 school students in 70 government schools.

  • Training Session on CSA

    A training session on Child Sexual Abuse, in collaboration with Samadhan Abhiyan NGO, took place on 5th August 2019. The session covered diverse aspects of child abuse, emphasizing the trainer's role in addressing queries and educating children about safe and unsafe touches.

  • Child Sexual Abuse Protection

    State

    Womenite emphasizes that raising awareness about the various forms of child sexual abuse and disseminating essential information is crucial for effective prevention. To achieve this, it has been conducting numerous sessions on child sexual abuse in schools and organisations across Delhi NCR. These sessions primarily target Government MCD schools and are attended by children aged 5 to 14 years. By providing such awareness, Womenite strives to combat child sexual abuse and protect vulnerable children in the region.

  • Menstrual Hygiene Day 2018

    Menstrual Hygiene Day serves as a global platform for people from all sectors to take action, advocate, and exchange knowledge about menstrual hygiene and management. Following this initiative, Womenite organised an awareness programme on 'Menstrual Hygiene' under the banner of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" at three different centres in Delhi. Over 200 women participated, learning about menstruation myths and facts, engaging in interactive discussions, and sharing their aspirations for their daughters' secure futures. The session concluded with the distribution of pads and refreshments, promoting education and awareness for positive change worldwide.

  • Udaan: Beti bachao Beti Padhao

    The Udaan event, Beti Padhao Beti Bachao, held at Surajmal Stadium, Nangloi, in collaboration with Womenite and the District Magistrate of West Delhi, involved girls from various Government schools in Delhi. The function aimed to challenge the conservative mindset, eradicate gender inequality, and empower women with equal opportunities in society. Proud parents accompanied the girls, rejoicing in raising these remarkable gems.

  • Naari Ki Chaupals in 17 villages

    In honour of International Women's Day, Womenite, in association with The Office of District Magistrate, North Delhi, organized Naari ki Chaupal sessions in 17 villages of North Delhi. The initiative focused on raising awareness about girl education and menstrual hygiene. Modules on Menstrual Hygiene and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao were delivered to women of all age groups, emphasizing the significance of education for girls and its role in fostering independence and financial security. The village visits received a positive response, with women openly discussing their struggles with education.

  • Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign

    Ten schools in South-West Delhi's regions, including Najafgarh, Sagarpur, Raj Nagar, and Palam, were part of a menstrual hygiene and management workshop project. This initiative was conducted under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign in collaboration with the Office of the District Magistrate, South-West Delhi.
