The Jan Kalyan Gramodyog Seva Ashram (JKGSA) is a non-political, secular, and non-profit organisation founded in 1970 under the leadership of Sri Niza Read moremuddin, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy. JKGSA's primary mission is to promote social justice, gender equity, and socio-economic development while emphasising the importance of health, education, and environmental sustainability. The organisation focuses on women's empowerment, preventing violence against women, and rehabilitating child labour, striving to create a violence-free society. JKGSA also seeks to sensitise people to environmental concerns throughout its initiatives. Its vision is to establish a society that is economically self-reliant, just, and environmentally conscious, where women, children, and vulnerable communities are empowered, and its mission is to support these groups while conserving flora, fauna, species, land, and the environment.

Programs

  • Old Age Home Programme

    Aasara Oldage Home is a facility that provides essential care and support for elderly individuals who are destitute, ill, or abandoned by their families. It has established model homes for senior citizens in places like Dulahipur, Chandauli. In light of the vulnerability of the elderly, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the home adheres to strict safety and hygiene measures, including mask-wearing, regular hand sanitisation, and social distancing. Aasara Oldage Home prioritises the health and nutrition of its residents, offering a well-balanced diet tailored to their preferences. The facility has a well-equipped kitchen, experienced chefs, and weekly consultations with a dietician. It also provides round-the-clock personal care, and medical assistance and facilitates social connections. The healthcare centre is stocked with medicines, an ambulance facility is available, and it has ties with nearby hospitals.

  • GHS (Family Planning project)

    The project was implemented in 15 Villages of Chopan, Robertsganj & Nagwa Block of Sonbhadra District. From 15 villages altogether, 20 champions were selected, improving family planning services and increasing the community through awareness meetings, workshops and programme.
