Conceived by a group of esteemed social thinkers, management professionals, and education experts, NALANDA was established with the mission to fill the gap in accessible, high-quality education for children who had yet to experience the transformative power of learning. Operating as both an implementing agency and a Resource Centre for Educational Innovation, NALANDA has impacted communities in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, and extends its influence to other states upon request. Recognized for its commitment to educational excellence, NALANDA is registered under the Society Registration Act, FCRA, and 80G, ensuring it continues to deliver on its promise of empowering children through education and fostering long-term societal change.

Programs

  • CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

    The Program aims to enhance the educational quality of non-government organizations (NGOs) working with children. Recognizing that many NGOs lack skilled manpower and understanding of quality education’s nuances, particularly its soft components, Nalanda offers residential training programs to improve their capacity. Each year, ten NGOs are selected to participate in a phased training course, focusing on national educational policies, local issues, and innovative ideas. Since its inception, the program has benefitted 124 NGOs, fostering a network of organizations committed to improving children's education.

  • INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION

    The program, launched in 2014, aims to bridge the rural-urban digital divide and enhance learning quality by incorporating technology into education. Implemented across Madarsas in Uttar Pradesh, this unique initiative integrates technology with curriculum and pedagogy, providing students with an opportunity to improve their learning experiences. By establishing 10 ITE centers in three districts, Nalanda strives to uplift children’s educational levels, empowering them with the skills and knowledge necessary for the modern world, fostering both academic and technological growth.
