Its vision is a society wher Read moree women and girls can make choices, fulfill basic needs, pursue goals, and lead self-sufficient, sustainable lives with respect. HCSSS empowers girls and women through social, behavioural, and economic change, offering community-driven education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihood solutions. Its goals include providing essential services to the poor, promoting comprehensive development for those in challenging circumstances, raising awareness and educating communities about their development, and supporting the progress of marginalized groups. Operating in the mountainous and forested areas of Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, HCSSS targets Tribals, Dalits, women, children, landless individuals, small/marginal farmers, and people with disabilities.

Impact
Holy Cross Social Service Society has positively impacted over 5,000 girls through its education programmes, with a remarkable 95% of them continuing their education beyond school. Additionally, more than 2,500 women have seen an increase in their income through the women's livelihood programme, while 3,000 women farmers have embraced and implemented organic farming methods. Moreover, 60% of women and girls supported by the organisation are experiencing improved social and emotional well-being, free from gender discrimination.

Education
Conducts Out-Of-School Time Education Programme For Girl Children. Girls between the ages of 11 and 14 are the target audience for GLOW Clubs. Every Club provides two hours of after-school programming once a week for 15-20 girls and their trained mentors. The goal is to help the girls develop the ability to integrate their abilities, attitudes, and behaviors to deal with everyday difficulties and tasks in an ethical and productive manner.

Conducts workshops and programmes to generate awareness on gender discrimination and their rights.

Promotion of Community Institutions
It establishes and strengthens community groups tailored to local needs in project villages, including Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Federations, Farmers Producer Organisations (FPOs), Village Development Committees (VDCs), and Forest Protection Committees, to enable communities to drive village development efforts independently, fostering technology adoption, and enhancing community engagement.
