Unified Microdevelopment Association (UMDA) provides micro finance and finance literacy programs in rural areas. It works to promote women entrepreneu Read morership at the micro level through its financial & non-financial services. The organization has initiated a 6-day training program for youth in rural Uttar Pradesh who have passed 12th grade. The program focuses on the working of micro finance institutions (MFIs), educating them on the specific knowledge and skills that are required to work in a micro finance institution, and equipping them with practical knowledge of the micro finance sector. In addition, the program offers field training for one day in order to familiarize the candidates with the working of MFIs at the field level. Moreover, candidates who are interested in working in banks are also provided with specific training so that they can find employment in organizations that provide loans. The training is free of cost, and 131 out of the 153 candidates from the training have secured jobs in various financial organizations. UMDA offers two types of loans (the UMDA Samadhan and the UMDA Aay Vriddhi) in addition to an insurance plan.
