The Karnataka Education Welfare & Cultural Society (KEWCS) was established in 2009 under the guidance of Sufi Hazrat Syed Ushaq Mohammed Quadiri, son Read moreof Dr. M.D.H.H. Hazrat Syed Peer Basha Quadiri Chippagiri (Chupgiri Peeran). A group of dynamic and young enthusiastic members, inspired by a noble intention of engaging in social and cultural activities in the slum areas of HUBLI-DHARWAD, came together during a meeting. With a vision to empower the economically and educationally disadvantaged residents, particularly in adjacent slum areas, KEWCS decided to initiate a school for children in Gousiya Town, old Hubli, located in Karnataka. Recognizing the challenges faced by people with weak economic backgrounds, the society took its first step by opening a nursery class in 2009-2010. Over the years, with continuous dedication and service to the impoverished and slum-dwelling communities, KEWCS obtained permission to start a primary school in 2016. Through persistent hard work, dedication, and commendable academic results, the society has progressed to offer higher primary classes, conducting regular sessions from nursery to the eighth standard within the same premises. Currently, there are over 600 students enrolled in the school, with a dedicated team of more than twenty-four teaching and non-teaching staff members closely monitoring and imparting social values. Emphasizing English as the medium of education, the school also provides Arabic and Urdu classes for interested students. The encouragement of students' participation in various sports activities, with efforts directed towards national and international levels, is a key focus. Beyond academic activities, KEWCS conducts various social welfare initiatives, including free medical camps and tailoring classes for the benefit of the poor and needy. In addition, the society extends support to poor, widows, orphans, and disabled individuals in various ways. KEWCS operates on humanitarian grounds, striving for social welfare for every individual in the backward and impoverished societies. The mission is to equip society's underprivileged groups, especially women and children, through diverse education and innovative programs, empowering them to bring about positive changes. The vision of KEWCS is to facilitate active participation in the development process, bringing about improvements in the lives of underprivileged and needy families.
