The Disability NGOs Alliance (DNA)is working with the aim of establishing a society with equal opportunities for all and empowering people with disabi Read morelities. It was founded by leading disability organisations in Karnataka. DNA carries out its initiatives with NGOs where there is insufficient welfare mechanism for PWDs, by acting as a bridge between NGOs, institutions, and the Government. It plays a crucial role in advocating for policy changes and legal reforms that support the rights of PWDs and has a membership of 160 organisations from all over Karnataka that has impacted the lives of 30,000 PWDs, including those with physical and mental disabilities, blood-related disorders, rare disease etc. It has created a platform where disability NGOs and experts train smaller and emerging NGOs to improve and develop the lives of PWDs through workshops, weekly learning sessions etc. It has associated itself with the State and Local government agencies and has a partnership with the Dhwani Foundation. Through these associations, it has worked on various initiatives, including Covid Vaccination Drives. It aims to build a larger network of NGOs to impact the lives of 100,000 people with disabilities in the next 5 years.

Covid Vaccination Drive Programme
The Covid Vaccination Drive Programme is committed to delivering over 100,000 vaccine jabs to people with disabilities over a period of 6 months. To achieve a higher outcome, the programme has collaborated with BBMP, Government Agencies, Health Department, District Disability Welfare Office, and Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Swashakti Programme
The Swashakti Programme is initiated in order to create self-employment opportunities for PwDs in rural areas. It also offers campaigns, vocational training, and skill management to help the PwDs become financially independent.

Mission 1000 Programme
The Mission 1000, in partnership with Enable India, is a programme mainly designed for people with intellectual disabilities. It aims to create 1000 opportunities including skill development and employment within 1000 days for 1000 people. It also provides workshops for skill development and awareness regarding suitable jobs for people with disabilities.

Early Intervention Programme
DNA empowers member NGOs to establish early intervention programmes, establishing a strong service ecosystem from the outset. These programmes include promptly identifying beneficiary needs, efficiently planning and delivering required services, conducting collaborative capacity-building workshops to foster synergy and sector advancement, and strengthening community healthcare systems through early interventions and local healthcare referrals.
