Sankalptaru strives to work for a greener planet along with the assistance of the community. It takes up plantation of trees and encourages the people Read more to contribute their time to plant trees. It has various programmes to enable people to participate in greening the environment, for instance, it facilitates plantations for particular projects, on birthdays, as per zodiac signs, native species or to celebrate festivals. It has created applications to help people in taking part in greening activities while taking care of their health.

Impact

Sankalptaru has planted 488799 trees which have absorbed 733198.5 tonnes of CO2.

We strive to empower local communities and inspire individuals to take action to protect and conserve the environment for future generations.

We also envision developing a lush-green and bio-diverse sustainable world for future generations by igniting a huge environmental revolution through trees. With each healthy sapling, we intend to create a repository for a rich ecological biodiverse planet.

Programs

  • Clean and Green School Programme

    Through this programme, schools are roped in to help with drives where the students are mobilized in large numbers to plant and nurture trees. It connects with organisations and corporates like Teach for India, RB, Tata Power, Godrej Appliances and Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, to conduct large-scale plantation drives and tree gifting campaigns.

  • Community Land Plantation Programme

    Partnering with Rio Tinto, State Bank of India Foundation, GIC Re, RB and TechnipFMC, the organisation set out to provide livelihoods and green areas in the Aravallis, Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Satara and Buldhana districts of Maharashtra.

  • City Based plantation Programme

    To increase employee engagement and promote corporate social responsibility toward the environment, Sankalptaru partnered with New India Assurance Co. Ltd., NEC Technologies India Limited, ThyssenKrupp Elevator India Pvt. Ltd. (tkEl), Kotak Life Insurance & Kotak Mahindra Bank and Philips India Ltd, to successfully conduct plantation drive in city areas of Mumbai and Bengaluru which are crowded and known for traffic and pollution.

  • Rural Livelihoods Support Programme

    Also called Project Thar, This programme works in the desert areas of Rajasthan. It aims to provide a livelihood to the local farmers while taking care of the environment. Sankalptaru plants fruit-bearing trees like Pomegranate, Ber, Lemon and many more which can survive in arid climates while providing an income to the farmers through selling their fruits. It also includes tree plantation drives in partnership with corporates.

  • Molai Forest 2.0 Plantation

    Creating forest with Forest Man Of India, Padma Shri Jadhav Payeng. These trees will build a green space for the community along with their flora and fauna.

  • Green Leh Ladakh

    Project Green Leh Ladakh is a mission to support farmers through agroforestry which started with supporting a couple of farmer beneficiaries a few years ago and then slowly turned into a revolution of creating 'Apple Villages' across the region. We have associated hundreds of farmers in this campaign and are focusing to expand this mission of 'Apple Villages' to a wider scale with the most efficient utilization of water possible.
