Animals Matter to Me (AMTM) is a non-profit organisation based in Mumbai, dedicated to the welfare and well-being of animals. It was established with Read morea vision to create a compassionate society where animals are treated with kindness and respect, It aims to alleviate the suffering of animals in need and provide them with the care and protection they deserve. It operates a dedicated rescue team that responds to distress calls, providing immediate medical attention and shelter to animals in critical conditions. It conducts workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to educate communities about responsible pet ownership, animal welfare laws, and the importance of spaying and neutering to control the stray animal population. AMTM has established feeding programmes for stray dogs and cats, ensuring they receive regular meals and basic healthcare. It operates a mobile veterinary clinic that provides free medical services to animals in underserved areas, where access to veterinary care is limited. It also advocates for animal rights and works towards influencing policy changes to protect animals collaborating with local authorities, Government agencies, and other animal welfare organisations to promote animal-friendly legislation and enforcement. To support its work, AMTM relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers who share its passion for animal welfare.

Sterilisation Programme
Sterilisation is a crucial measure in preventing suffering, prolonging female animals' lives, and reducing fights and injuries among males. It is internationally recognized as the most humane and effective approach to controlling the population and curbing the spread of diseases. In Mumbai, where millions of street dogs reside, Animals Matter to Me is actively involved in improving the welfare of stray and abandoned dogs by tackling overpopulation and preventing more dogs from becoming strays. It receives dogs and cats from the public, as well as through its dedicated animal rescue and volunteer teams. Additionally, the sterilisation programme has been extended to suburban Mumbai, which is home to a substantial population of around 10 lakh street dogs.

Medical Care Programme
Animals Matter To Me operates a comprehensive medical care programme, providing state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities for strays and abandoned pets. Its 44000 sq ft. facility in Malad West, Mumbai is equipped with advanced veterinary equipment and staffed by trained professionals, accommodating up to 300 animals. The facility includes an emergency ward for critical cases, a spay/neuter programme to control the animal population, in-house recovery units, pathology services for assessment, X-ray and laparoscopy units for diagnosis and surgeries, annual vaccinations, and health check-ups. It promptly responds to calls and emails, prioritizing emergencies such as accidents, poisonings, wounds, and cruelty cases. After working hours, external veterinary clinics are utilized for critical cases until stable, and then the animals are transported to its hospital for further treatment.

Rescue Programme
Animals Matter to Me operates a full-fledged rescue programme, providing assistance to distressed animals in various scenarios. Whether it's an unfortunate creature injured by a vehicle or an abandoned companion left behind by its human caretaker, the organisation extends a helping hand. Its committed teams evaluate each situation meticulously, ensuring that aid is promptly dispatched to those animals requiring immediate attention and care.

Animal Ambulance Programme
The Animal Ambulance programme operated by Animals Matter to Me aids in sterilization and critical emergencies. It rescues and returns various animals like dogs, cats, parrots, donkeys, horses, cows, elephants, goats, geese, tortoises, pigs, and rabbits. During the Malad floods, it vaccinated 2000 animals in 8 days and donated 38 tonnes of food for cattle and domestic animals.

CSR Programme
Animals Matter to Me encourages CSR partnerships for businesses and organisations to engage in activities such as shelter work, fostering animals, and assisting in business functions. It conducts awareness programmes and provides guidance on animal handling. Contributions support emergency medical care, free sterilisation/vaccination drives, animal ambulance services, medicines, hospital maintenance, meals for rescued animals, medical equipment, operational costs, and facility construction.
