Concern India Foundation works to provide assistance to grass-root level organisations in terms of implementation initiatives and financial assistance Read more. The foundation aims to support NGO's with capacity building, institution building, management support, monitoring and evaluation. Further, through its programmes, the Foundation offers support to diverse target groups which include children, women, men, the elderly, people with disability and rural communities belonging to the marginalised sections of society. Over the past 25-plus years, the Foundation has supported over 1000 NGO partners. Its educational initiatives have impacted 25,288 children and 1215 youth, The grass-root level work in the area of health and hygiene has enhanced the lives of 41,084 people and community development initiatives have benefited 56,672 individuals through training in natural resource management, empowerment of women, livelihood projects, organic farming, rainwater harvesting, self-help groups, shelter homes etc.

Programs

  • Infrastructure Development of Zilha Parishad High School

    State

    It worked to build infrastructure facilities for the Zilha Parishad High School in Anwir, Patilpada, Talasari, Palghar District, Maharashtra. Classrooms were refurbished, playgrounds levelled, toilets were built and provided with solar connectivity, drainage line cleaning and construction work were completed to help the students feel more comfortable and encourage them to attend school.

  • Improving Experiential Science Learning

    District

    To improve experiential learning, the foundation helped marginalised schools to adopt the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) method of learning using models. It provided low-cost materials to build models and built the capability of teachers to take forward methodical and experiential learning.

  • Provision of Lift Irrigation Facility

    State

    The Foundation helped farmers whose fields were far away from the river, get water to their fields by providing motorised pump irrigation. It also arranged for solar street lights to be installed in the village and the local school. A water filter was also provided to the school to cater to the students drinking water needs.

  • Mangrove Restoration

    State

    To help preserve indigenous plants, the foundation is involved in mangrove restoration in the Uttar Kannada districts of Karnataka. It aims to plant two lakh and seventy-five thousand mangrove saplings out of which about one lakh and sixty thousand have already been planted. To reduce the dependency of the local population on the mangroves, training on nursery management and beekeeping has been conducted as alternate livelihood options.

  • Educating the Girl Child - Bangalore Project

    Partnering with four grassroots organisations and supporting their initiatives, the Foundation worked towards the complete educational development of girls belonging to marginalised communities. The girls studying in the tenth grade were supported with digital devices like tabs and internet connectivity to help them learn online with a specific focus on Mathematics and Science.
