1980
The Indian Numismatic, Historical and Cultural Research Foundation (INHCRF), formerly known as the Indian Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies Read more(IIRNS), was established in 1980 with a primary focus on advancing studies and research in Indian numismatics, archaeology, culture, and history. INHCRF's core activities revolve around three primary objectives. Secondly, it supports and facilitates research by providing researchers with access to documented databases, an extensive library, and assistance to other institutions in cataloging their collections. Lastly, it endeavors to raise awareness among students and the public about the significance of preserving India's diverse numismatic, historical, and cultural heritage through exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and its 'Shanti-Krishna Museum of Money & History.' Central to INHCRF's mission is the pursuit of cooperative exploration of the Indian subcontinent, achieved through partnerships with institutions like the British Museum, Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute, University of Warsaw, ELTE Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, and others. INHCRF is a registered organisation under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, the Income Tax Act, 1961, and the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, enabling it to receive foreign contributions to support its mission.
