The SNEH Foundation is an organisation that focuses on addressing the social issues of malnutrition, early childhood education, and maternal and child Read more health in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Its mission is to provide excellent early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to every child in India. The Foundation was established in 2011 by a group of changemakers who recognized the need for change and took the first steps to tackle these complex challenges in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area near Pune. Through collaborations with local and State Government agencies, hospitals, and corporates, SNEH Foundation has implemented various interventions and positively impacted the lives of over 10,000 children and mothers in 15 communities in Pune and PCMC. It believes that all children deserve nourishment, education, and access to medical care, and works towards making this a reality.

SNEH Foundation has set up five pre-schools reaching 400+ children, benefitting over 500 malnourished children, with 90% successfully coming back to a healthy state. Additionally, it has educated over 5,000 families and addressed over 100 health cases through referrals and treatments, In terms of healthcare, it has reached 453 adolescent girls from 7 corporation schools of PCMC, and out of them, 181 have been identified and treated for anaemia.

Education Programme
The SNEH Foundation tackles education challenges by providing affordable pre-primary education and support classes. It established pre-schools to enrol children from economically weaker backgrounds and ensure their admission to private schools under the RTE 25 policy. It focuses on curriculum, early literacy, holistic development, and parental awareness. Project GYAN addresses learning gaps for older children in the Kalakhadak slum, offering support classes in basic subjects and life skills. Through these initiatives, SNEH Foundation achieves high enrollment rates, improved learning outcomes, and community awareness, influencing the lives of disadvantaged children and families.

Nutrition Programme
SNEH Foundation tackles malnutrition in urban slums through a Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) intervention. It provides enriched nutrition supplements and raises awareness through street plays and digital sessions. Its team of workers and paediatricians work tirelessly to improve the health of malnourished children, promote vaccination, and raise awareness about hygiene. SNEH Foundation's comprehensive approach combats malnutrition and promotes a healthier future for deprived groups.

Health Programme
SNEH Foundation addresses the health challenges faced by pregnant women, mothers, and adolescent girls through Project Vatsalya. It focuses on providing timely services and counselling, emphasizing anaemia and prenatal, postnatal, and neonatal care. Its interventions include iron and folic acid supplementation, sexual reproductive health education, menstrual hygiene advice, and preventive health check-ups for adolescents. It also prioritizes antenatal care, skilled obstetric care, newborn care, immunization, and early detection of health issues in children. Through its efforts, it has reached out to over 450 adolescent girls, intervened for anaemia, and improved the health of mothers and newborns in targeted communities.
