DistrictThe organisation commenced its cancer care endeavours in 1941 with the establishment of the Tata Memorial Hospital, evolving into the Tata Medical Center in Kolkata in 2012. With the inception of the Cancer Care Programme in 2017, it aims to revolutionize cancer care in India by ensuring accessible, high-quality treatment. Through a Distributed Cancer Care Model focusing on Access, Quality, Affordability, and Awareness, it establishes a network of care centres across multiple states. Emphasising prevention, early detection, and palliative care, it strives to reverse the prevalent late-stage detection trend, supported by initiatives like the '#Kaisekacancer' campaign launched on World Cancer Day 2023. Through advocacy, infrastructure development, and awareness campaigns, it endeavours to enhance the quality and accessibility of cancer care across India.
