Livelihood
Our livelihood programs are aimed at building sustainable income and development for rural communities. They begin with a complete cycle of assessing the needs and resources of individual communities, designing, and establishing vocational training centres for sewing, electrical work, jewellery making and entrepreneurship training, etc., and finally, developing livelihood skills and competencies. In addition, we deliver basic financial literacy and banking training to support women to better manage their finances.
-
Health
The Desai Foundation Trust, in collaboration with local partners, offers various health camps like Women’s Health Check-Up and awareness drives, Camps for Vision and Dental, and General Health and Paediatric Check-Ups in the most remote and isolated geographic locations in rural India. The health programs are developed and executed based on need assessment and identification of demand and succeeded by regular follow-ups, to ensure continuing treatment even after the camp’s end.
-
Menstrual Equity
Menstrual Hygiene Management is a vital aspect of public health, and that everyone deserves the right to manage their menstrual cycle with dignity and ease. The MHM program is dedicated to promoting the importance and awareness of Menstrual Hygiene and Management for girls and women in a community. Our program aims to reduce the stigma and shame associated with menstruation and empower girls and women to manage their periods confidently. This includes a variety of initiatives, such as distributing menstrual products and providing education and information on menstrual health.
