Humankind, a voluntary organization that deals in strengthening the exercise of Child Rights, with a particular focus on the Right to Development. It Read moreprimarily provides necessary support to the learning process of underprivileged children. It is mandatory for these children to attend regular school. Humankind provides supplementary support to them after their regular school hours. The children are also educated in matters of health, hygiene and sanitation. Efforts are afoot to create awareness and concern for the environment. Furthermore, Humankind provides guidance for higher studies and vocational training to youth who have passed out of school, and also to adults of the community. For vocational training, another initiative viz. “Saksham” is being taken up. Under Saksham, Humankind provides vocational training, to begin with, in the trade of tailoring at a centre operating in a rented place in Gandhivas, a “basti” of hundereds of underprivileged families in Sabarmati area of Ahmedabad. Besides, the children are introduced to preliminary financial literacy. Children are taught to cultivate saving habit out of the pocket money they get from their parents. It also helps them wean away from bad habits. For this purpose, Humankind has come up with the idea of Kids’ Bank. Every Sunday, children deposit some amount in this informal bank which is managed by volunteers with the help of senior students.

AKSHAR CHETANA (अक्षर चेतना)
StateEducating and Empowering Underprivileged Children. Children from "bastis" are intended to receive educational support through Humankind's Akshar Chetana. Usually, these kids are enrolled in lower-tier private schools or government schools. But under Akshar Chetana, children who are excluded from the educational system due to a variety of socioeconomic factors are also sought out, and through therapy and persuasion, they are saved from their misbehaviour and brought back into the educational system. It restores their dignity and, over time, assists people in moving from a state of mere survival to one of nurturing attainable goals and striving for betterment in their lives. In addition to attending traditional schools, children attend two-hour sessions every day at our centres. The centres combine education and entertainment in a kid-friendly way by offering a space for play and relaxation.

SWASTHYA CHETANA (स्वास्थ्य चेतना)
StateThe goal of Swasthya Chetana is to raise children's and youth's knowledge of basic cleanliness and health. Additionally, Swasthya Chetana works to enhance sanitation and hygiene, as well as health monitoring. Our recipients live in extremely filthy circumstances in Bastais. They consequently experience a variety of illnesses or long-term conditions. Because they cannot access private clinics and the government hospitals are congested, they end up in the hands of quacks, which is harmful to their health.
We often host free health screening camps for kids and their parents. Government health check-up units, private hospitals, and corporations all sponsor these camps. Many health examinations include oral examinations, hygiene sessions, general health examinations, ocular examinations, cancer screenings, etc.
