Aarohi Blood Bank (ABB), an initiative by the grassroots organisation Aarohi, has been active in Hyderabad for 13 years. ABB operates on a non-profit Read morebasis and focuses on providing top-notch facilities for blood donation, preparing blood components, and distributing blood and blood products. Its goal is to ensure safe blood is available at a reasonable cost for those who can pay and to give free and safe blood to those in need, particularly children with thalassemia and leukaemia in Government hospitals. Aarohi tackles critical blood shortages, with a strong focus on children's health. The centre acts as a specialized blood facility with a four-part mission: providing high-quality blood to children with thalassemia and leukaemia, promoting voluntary blood donation, raising awareness about thalassemia, and training young leaders to sustain voluntary blood donation efforts. Aarohi serves as a trustworthy bridge between donors and patients, with a message that encourages everyone to become a hero through blood donation, aiming to close the gap between donors and patients while ensuring free access for those who cannot afford it.
