Nirman works at grassroots levels in society imparting education, enabling livelihoods and encouraging and promoting social leadership. It was started Read more by BITS Pilani graduates and spread across the country with many chapters and units. Its education programme includes school adoptions, disruptive digital interventions, scholarships, mentorships and Vidya helpline. The livelihood programme features youth and women skilling, Threads of hope, sustainable agriculture and the National digital literary mission while the social leadership initiative includes student chapters, volunteering and internship and operation Sahaaya its disaster response programme.

Impact

Nirmaan has impacted the lives of 3+ million beneficiaries with the support of 500+ full-time employees and a 1000+ strong volunteer network

Vision-To achieve poverty free, knowledge driven and thus socially and economically empowered society.
Mission- 1. To Provide and facilitate quality education to the underprivileged children and youth and thus empower them with character and confidence.
2. To create livelihood opportunities to financially backward but motivated, unemployed people especially youth by providing training in professional, entrepreneurial and vocational skills which will help in their employment or self-employment.
3. To help people in extreme need. Like rehabilitating handicapped, helping orphans, providing voluntary assistance during national emergencies etc., on humanitarian grounds.

Programs

  • Livelihood Programmes

    It skills unemployed youth through 8 centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and also trains women in vocational trades to enable livelihoods getting them placed in jobs and help setting up businesses. Through Threads of Hope, it facilitates women to design, manufacture and market their products. Farmers are encouraged to take up sustainable agriculture and assisted to deal with markets by organising them into product companies.

  • Social Leadership Programmes

    It promotes volunteering and social leadership in corporates by encouraging employees to engage in teaching specific skills both virtually and in-person sessions while individuals are welcome to volunteer in any way they want. Corporations are roped in to give internship opportunities to candidates from reputed institutes. Students are encouraged to contribute to the development of communities nearby college campuses.

  • Education Programme

    It adopts Government schools in bad condition to upgrade infrastructure and develop children. Through its digital intervention, it sets up digital labs with complete support and also provides scholarships to bright students with financial problems. It runs the Vidya helpline that responds to students' calls informing them about career choices, financial aid and directs them towards correct academic choices.

    To impart market-oriented skills to youth from underprivileged and economically weaker sections. To generate livelihoods out of the skills learnt through placement support. To improve their soft skills and workplace readiness

Nirmaan Organization is a registered NGO, started by students of BITS Pilani in 2005. We work in the areas of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Health and Wellbeing, Community Development and Social Leadership. In the past 16 years of journey, we have impacted the lives of 1.5+ million beneficiaries with the support of 300+ full time employees and 1000+ strong volunteer network, through various impact-oriented Flagship Programs & Social Leadership Initiatives benefiting Children, Women, Youth, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), LGBTQ+ and Farmers from diverse social backgrounds across 22 States of India while partnering with 100+ Corporate, Government and Philanthropic partners.
