The Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) is a social development agency that dedicates its life to uplifting the hopes and standard of living of ma Read morerginalised rural communities and people in Bihar and Jharkhand. IDF was established in 1993 by a group of seasoned social development specialists. Since then, it has implemented numerous community-based projects at the grassroots level, utilising a variety of tactics to carry out its purpose tenaciously. It has led the way in enhancing capacity and implementing community-level processes. Three guiding principles govern the organisation: leveraging resources, developing local capacity, fortifying community institutions, and fostering sustainable rural development through convergence. UN agencies, national and international financiers, leading corporate houses under CSR, and state governments all support IDF. In addition, IDF leads several governmental and local NGO networks.

Impact
IDF has impacted the lives of more than 3,00,000 people since it started its operation. It pronounces great achievements in different areas of implementation that reflect in our thematic interventions. • Supported Women Self Help groups to start, run and sustain microenterprises. 300 women benefitted through micro-enterprise. Individual financial Support was extended to 650 ultra-poor women to sustain their daily living and income. • Micro-loans provided to 3,000 women enabling them to start first-time independent businesses. • Organization has facilitated smooth access to government services for 25,000 families under different projects to come out of abject poverty and live a dignified life. • Organisation worked with 2,50,000 Adolescent Girls on SRH, MHM & Life Skills to enable them have the capacity and skills for development. • 3000 Peers educators were trained on SRH, Gender, NCD & Life Skills under PYARHI, CCCDP and AHDP projects implemented by IDF. • 500 Adolescent girls and women trained in Sewing and Apparel making. • 10,000 children benefitted from Education, Health, Water, Sanitation, hygiene, sports, life skills development and recreational interventions • 4000 VHSNC members trained on the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative and WASH issues • 28 Solar Powered irrigation system benefitting 1200 Small- hold Farmers to build a resilient food production system • Extended education and delayed the age of marriage for 8000 girls in different intervention areas • Facilitated access to clean water and sanitation facilities to 5000 rural families across intervention areas. • 5000 community members become flood resilient and able to minimize the damage in flood hazard areas of north Bihar. • 1570 Community-based Institutions were strengthened and delivered at the grassroots. • 1000 Community leaders, local advocates and Champions trained and they are taking up local issues and doing grassroots advocacy. • Promoted eco-friendly solar-powered lighting 500 system in 42 villages • 530 vermi compost pits for Promotion of Organic Farming practices & use of vermicompost • Construction of 550 Individual Household Toilets and 5 Sanitary complexes to ensure total sanitation coverage and open defecation free. • 2000 Village Action Plans were facilitated for better local planning and development. • Approximately 2000 Frontline Health workers trained which ensured better delivery of services at the grassroots.

Creating Sustainable Communities
IDF partnered with flagship programme of HDFC Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility Parivartan in November 2016 and worked in 10 selected villages of Samastipur to stimulate holistic Community development. The project is basically aimed to empower local people to address numerous interconnected issues associated with their family needs such as Healthcare, Quality Education, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene and Livelihood in a sustainable way. focuses on ‘holistic and enabling program’ encompassing quality Education, Health care, improved Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, enabled to earn substantial & sustainable livelihood. It has promoted self-dependent ,self-reliant , clean & green villages with proper infrastructure, facilities and empowered Institution for local development.

Access to Justice for Children
IDF has been working in collaboration with Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation of America and implementing the project to ensure access to justice for children and scalable model for prevention and eliminate on child trafficking and child abuse through awareness generation, mental health support among children, schools, PRI members, police and other stakeholders along with providing legal support to the victims and their families. Facilitating Prosecution of sexual offenders is the key element of project interventions and organisation extend counselling and legal support to the victims. The project aims to cover the child abuse victims from all sixteen administrative blocks of Muzaffarpur district.

Holistic Rural Initiative for Development and Yield
IDF works for the entire development of the chosen villages by directing multilateral efforts towards addressing various needs through a variety of subject areas and bridging development gaps. It ensures community involvement by bolstering community organisations like farmers' groups, SHGs, teenage groups, village development committees, and others. It provides the creation of communal assets based on needs. To accomplish the program's goals, IDF will make the most of its resources, make sure that services are readily available and accessible, help the core group members get the training and skills they need to become master trainers and collaborate with various government agencies, programs, and initiatives to create a comprehensive result that will be sustainable.

TARUNYA-Adolescent Health and Development
With an eye towards the health and development of teenagers, IDF is working with Engender Health to undertake Project TARUNYA. Adolescent leadership and involvement, equity and inclusion, gender equity, and strategic collaboration with other sectors and stakeholders are the guiding principles. This project's main goals are to treat non-communicable diseases, prevent violence and injuries, promote mental health, improve sexual and reproductive health, and prevent substance abuse.

Grassroots, Resilience, Ownership and Wellness (GROW) Fund supported by EdelGive Foundation
The project was supported by EdelGive Foundation for capacity enhancement of grassroot implementation organisation and promoting different areas for organisation development. It was non-programmatic and all activities and sub activities contributed towards three core components. IDF has been provided support for two years starting April 2022 and the support included critical costs and capacity building to recover from immediate challenges due to pandemic and cater for future readiness for long term institutional sustainability. It facilitated Improved & strengthened organizational systems, mechanisms, policy and procedures for organizational effectiveness. It also ensured excellent thematic expertise, professional enrichment and standard operationalization within the organisation.

Child Wellness and Care Project
The project aims to drive down a reduction in child Labour, child exploitation and abuse through leveraging government structures / systems and schemes & provisions and strengthening the capacity of community to monitor child rights and protection. It encompasses different interventions to provide safeguards to the vulnerable families and their children and also strive to enhance their living. The project also focused on orientation of newly elected PRI members on their roles and responsibilities and their capacity enhancement on domain of PRI to promote child protection and development in Gram Panchayat Development Plan. Community leaders' Orientation on child wellness, protection and care issues enhanced their capacity and they were able to advocate for their own issues and also facilitate community to access to government schemes.

Technical Assistance to community managed JJM and ODF Interventions in Jharkhand
DF in collaboration with UNICEF Jharkhand, has been providing technical support to Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DWSD), in six districts of Jharkhand with special focus on the flagship programs of Government of India i.e., Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).Project team worked with DWSD on strategy preparation, inter-departmental coordination, convergence and capacity building of stakeholders. To implement and fostering action plan of Jal Jeevan Mission, a district level convergence meeting was organized with different departments i.e., DWS, Panchayati Raj, Health, Education and public representatives like MP, MLA and elected Sarpanch. IDF facilitate capacity building training of Block coordinators, social mobilizers and stakeholders includes VWSC, Functionaries of BWSC, DWSM, ASHA, Anganwadis workers, SHGs, NGO on ODF sustainability and SBM (G) Phase-II at District and Block level.

Addressing gender-based vulnerabilities in Migration through institutional strengthening of Panchayats
IDF has been implementing a UNFPA grant project “Addressing Gender Based Vulnerabilities in Migration through Institutional Strengthening of Panchayats” to enhance the role of the Panchayats in Resilience Building of Women/Young Girls thus creating an enabling environment for women/girls reducing & addressing the various vulnerabilities with them as a result of distressed migration. The project encompasses three strategies i.e. Empowering women & adolescent Girls, Involve and Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institution and Mobilizing resources. Project also facilitated Capacity building of 206 PRI members on Gram Panchayat Development Planning (GPDP). 32 Mukhiyas, 347 Ward members and 72 Youth Leaders were capacitated on safe migration. 92 “One Stop Camps” organized and counseling and mobilized 5106 Young Girls/ boys and Dalit women to avail the government scheme

Maitri supported by Educate Girls
Bihar has one of the lowest female literacy rates in India. Under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, every states of India have taken various steps towards protecting the girls and enabling their education. IDF is implementing a project titled “Maitri Project” on girl’s education from Feb, 2023 supported by “Educate Girls” in 9 blocks of Vaishali District. The project aims at identifying the key factors of girls dropping out and never went to the school followed by admitting them in schools. IDF focuses more on such SCs, EBCs and minorities Girls. Project aims to enrolling 10000 girls in the schools who are Out of School Girls (OOSG) through various mobilizing and awareness activities with different groups of the society such as; community meetings, door to door Survey and meetings with school management for admitting out of school girls admission in schools. The project also aims at the retention of all those admitted girls in their respective schools for continuation of education.

Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights of Young Dalits
IDF has been implementing a UNFPA-PLAN supported project aimed at strengthening access of young dalit women and men on their Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through diversifying, integrating and strengthening of system(s) to respond to their rights effectively, rationally and quickly. Project works with community stakeholders, service providers and existing health facilities for increasing awareness and knowledge enhancement on Sexual and Reproduction health rights and also to cater the additional demand of FP commodities and services raised due to increased awareness with the interventions of Community Mobilization, Demand Tracking, System strengthening and convergent actions. Project directly covers population of 20,000 young dalit women and men spread over 174 villages across all 6 community development blocks of Sheikhpura district. “We Care App” is an innovative initiative to increase awareness , provide services and track on demand for family planning services.

Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme(AGEP)
DF is working in collaboration with Nomi Network in an “Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme” (AGEP) and implementing the project at Katra block of Muzaffarpur district with the objectives of enabling adolescent girls to make independent choices and take responsible, informed decisions with regard to their marriage, relationships and economic freedom. The multi-faceted intervention will result in reduced exploitation and violence against the Adolescent at the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking by creating social and economic pathways to sustainable empowerment. IDF has initiated multipronged approach of girls’ empowerment encompassing improved socio emotional Life skills & awareness on their rights, easy access to existing provisions and services for adolescent girls. Inducing vocational skills for self-reliance is an important component of this project. In the project, organisation directly work with 750 Adolescent Girls who have never attended school.

Sustainable Health Initiative Nurturing Empowerment (SHINE)
Sustainable Health Initiative Nurturing Empowerment (SHINE) has been conceptualized to develop an integrated program focusing on first 1000 days, promoting health and wellbeing of pregnant and lactating mothers to reduce maternal and child morbidity, mortality and malnutrition in Ariary block of Sheikhpura. Project encompasses improving pregnancy outcomes and thereby reduce infant morbidity and mortality and to improve the nutritional status of children between 0 to 6 years, Referral and admission of complicated SAM/MAM cases to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers (NRC) and Counselling on appropriate feeding practices and follow-up of discharged Children by creating database of their feeding practices and social & economical background.

Promoting Rural Opportunities & Solutions for Prosperity, Enrichment & Raise (PROSPER)
DF with the support of Mankind Pharma is implementing a Promoting Rural Opportunities & Solutions for Prosperity, Enrichment & Raise (PROSPER) in 15 selected villages of Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui districts and has made a positive contribution to the development of the target community. The Program enhance rural livelihoods through microenterprise development and skill training. It improves education through school renovations and smart classrooms. The project boosts healthcare services through awareness programs and health check-ups. It ensures safe drinking water and sanitation, upgrades Anganwadi Centers, promotes solar energy, and offer financial literacy programs.
